No attacks on U.S. since 9/11 despite many attempts. Saddam dead. OBL pretty much ineffective...wife and kid sleeping safely in bed. I would say pretty popular with me. Thanks George!

It may have been bad in March of 2003, but that had nothing to do with Clinton. That is toward the end of Bush's first term as a moron.

I got my dates wrong when I was typing...damn! It was under the clinton admin that is was that high. It's been pretty low under bush until the recent months. Either way 5% unemployment is still pretty low.

Unemployment doesn't matter that much when the economy as a whole is in the shitter. Over $3 (that would be about 2 Euros or 1.5 British pounds for our European members) for a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk, fruit prices that are starting to skyrocket, gasoline and diesel prices that would make most everyone cry when they look at the price for a tankful, etc.

That's for nothing! We pay around $10 a gallon for petrol, (gas), in England of which about 80% is tax. Plus of course all the other anti-car taxes that the Green liberals are heaping onto us in order "to save the planet" (???), such as the London Congestion charge that will cost us $50 a day to bring our 4x4's, (SUV's), into London, plus $800 annual road fund licence, none of which is reinvested into our road infrastructure, plus speeding cameras that will charge you $120 per ticket, etc etc ....

How is the Gov't provided healthcare going for you over there?

Guess we don't know how good we got it. We are heading in the same direction FAST, but I still have hope for this country.

I sure feel better about filling up the RV now, after hearing how bad it 'could' get.

If the libs get their way, we'll be in the same situation.

Thanks for your posts Binky - gives us a new perspective on things here.

Geee, a little event called 9/11 which caused a 4 TRILLION dollar hit to our economy had nothing to do with that, now did it.

Everyone complains about the cost of gas and blames it on the Iraqi's or others. Look at the gas taxes. I think our government needs to be held responsible for most of the price. Maybe they think gas is a luxury and are adding luxury taxes also.
