Rev. Wright Just Can't Shut Off the Hatred

Maybe he should join the WBC in Topeka, but then he would have to scream racism, even though it sounds like they have some of the same beliefs!

I just heard a sound bite from Obama

He said "Wright is not representative of what this campaign is all about". He didn't say" not representative of what I am about."

Obama is pure politician through and through.....the only change with him is he will be the first black president.... Well that is change for sure.

How can you tell he is political ? His lips are moving.

You have to listen closely. I think he makes Slick Willy look like a choir boy.

I am sorry Obama voters.... You cannot go to a church for 20 years and not agree with your pastor.....Just like some of the other Black pastors said....there are plenty of black churches.... and regardless of what Wright says, All black churches are not like his.

I disagree Weeze....I go to church every weekend and don't agree with my pastor on a lot of things....Abortion, Gay Marriage, Women Bishops, etc.

When Obama states that Wright "doesn't speak for me", I'm going to take his word on it......at least until something surfaces that shows me differently.

Using that logic I should be a raging Republican by now. I've associated with thsi board and been overwhelmed by the participants on a regular basis since long before the previous board imploded.

But I'm not. I still belive George Bush is evil, Republicans are dragging this country in the wrong direction and I know I make my own decisions.

Out of 20 years worth of sermons you are looking at about 5 minutes worth.

Even Mr. Wright agrees with you on that JW.

Quote:
“Absolutely not,” Mr. Wright said. “I don’t talk to him about politics. And so he had a political event, he goes out as a politician and says what he has to say as a politician. I continue to be a pastor who speaks to the people of God about the things of God.”

Mr. Obama publicly denounced Mr. Wright’s remarks, a reaction Mr. Wright said “went down very simply.”

“He’s a politician, I’m a pastor,” he said. “We speak to two different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician. I say what I have to say as a pastor. But they’re two different worlds.”

He added, “I do what I do. He does what politicians do. So that what happened in Philadelphia where he had to respond to the sound bytes, he responded as a politician.”

In the end it’s not about what I think, or even what Wordy thinks. It’s what the super delegates think. Their interest is electing a Democrat and if they decide Obama is less likely to win in November than Hillary they have the power to hand Hillary the nomination.

I think a person should follow their heart and gut feeling about something important like this.... I really hope I am wrong about him... really really I do. Its not that I don't find him appealing, its just the gut feeling. I can't even put my finger on a problem per say....

Just out of curiosity, why would you continue to go every weekend if there is “a lot” that you don’t agree with? The examples you gave are pretty big issues to a lot of people. There is more than one church, even in little ‘ole Dodge City. There definitely is a lot more choices in Chicago. I just don’t buy the fact that you can sit and listen to that stuff for 20 years if you don’t agree with it. Plus make him your spiritual advisor.

Excuse me, but if you go to church and don't listen, isn't that being a "hypocrite"?

Like I said before. Obama is very appealing and mostly says the right things. So thinking about it I get guided back to Michelle Obama.

One Political watcher suggested, maybe she led him to that church to begin with. That sounds reasonable to me because alot of the time a wife is the church chooser.

Too me she is the outspoken radical one, and I dunno, could be wrong...won't be the first time, but maybe that is the gut feeling I am having.

From the snippits I have listened to, with her at the wheel, I have thought before, she is a woman to be reckoned with. She is a strong, opinionated woman, and black at that. She , by nature, will have her say in things including matters of Presidential decisions.

That church is a radical church....not unlike Phelps' church but without the exposure until now. Under the blanket of a "church", most everyone couldn't care less about it. We have religious freedom, so believe what you will. However hate speech and the blame everything on whitey or blame everything on the gays or abortion or whatever, is not what my new testament talks about ...its love and forgiveness and all created equal... yes the blacks were wronged, we know it, it was horrible. ...we have tried to make amends.... That church is KKK mentality only reversed.

Now having said that I guess in order to know for sure what was preached every Sunday, one would have to order the tapes of the sermons for 20 years. But to me.....IMHO.... If that "sound bite" of the sermon in question was only spoken one time..... that to me would send up flags...and kinda make me think WTF was that about ....and why are you saying these things. What has put the burr in your saddle after all these years?

The website pretty much said all there was to say about the DOGMA of that church, add to that the sermon and if it walks like a duck...........But the website has been purged of its offensive language.

Maybe Obama is telling the truth. That was the only time his pastor had a sermon like that and he wasn't in attendance that day....

Its possible.

Anyway I got off track................ OBAMA_MAMA..... makes me nervous.
