Bush's sacrafice for the Fallen vets and their families

VetVoice:: Bush Finally Speaks to the Ultimate Wartime Sacrifice

For the first time, Bush revealed a personal way in which he has tried to acknowledge the sacrifice of soldiers and their families: He has given up golf.

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf," he said. "I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."

And just what have you givin up to show your solidarity with the troops? You know, those guys and gals that fight to protect and keep you free.

NOTHING! Hypocrites.

I've given up money, time, sweat and comfort. And yourself?

I agree that statement probably wasn't one of his best, and that giving up golf in no way shows solidarity with the troops, but come on.....you guys jump on every word he says. The man can't utter anything without an attack. He's a lame duck for Chr!st's sake! Let it go already. History will judge his terms in office. It's not as if he's running for re-election. Nothing is served by bashing him - in a way it's unamerican. I know the free speech thing, but holy cow! It's comfort to the enemy!

McCain would be another 3 years of the same policies. Comfort to the enemy? That's along the same lines when the good righties would ask why we hate America when we started questioning the policies in the first place. Nothing more than propoganda.

As far as him being a lame duck... not so much. He's still doing damage and since he ASKED for this job he can take everything tat goes with it.

Nope - not going to give that one to ya. He's a lame duck trying to work with a congress with a majority of the opposite party. How much can you honestly expect him to accomplish? Honestly, now. He can't end the war - he could ask congress to do it, but he's not going to because he feels it's a necessary war. So I ask. Why haven't the Dems done it? Oh, now I get it - it's so that they can make Bush look even lamer.

Granted, the boy doesn't use his head when he speaks off the cuff, but that doesn't bother me so much - we all sound a bit goofy at times....

I get your point that he asked for the job, so he has to take what comes with it, but honest to God - I understand your point. Do you have to smear him every time he opens his mouth? The dem press is printing only the bad, so they're makin' your job too easy....surely you're above that....

Did they change the length of the term of office or did you learn math in Florida?
Or do you know something about his third year in office that we don't?
Impeachment? Worse?
