Perhaps Value Pack, (or as I might like to call you, Bargain Bin), you would like to tell us the name and details of this ANONYMOUS PILOT - if he in fact exists!! Which I doubt.

Would you like me to post some anonymous rubbish about the Old Fella with a Bad Memory? I won't because I won't descend to your level of abusive and insulting nonsense.

You’re right. The hate-mongers are doing everything they can to smear McCain. That site that you have linked to twice today, The DKos, is one of the most vile and hate-mongering sites on the internet. The fact that you use them as a source to back up your delusions means you have already descended to the level of abusive and insulting nonsense.

..... according to Highwayman.
But then again you'd call any site with a liberal tinge "vile and hate-mongering" wouldn't you.

Quote:
ABOUT DAILY KOS Markos Moulitsas -- a.k.a. "kos" -- created Daily Kos on May 26, 2002, in those dark days when an oppressive and war-crazed administration suppressed all dissent as unpatriotic and treasonous. As a veteran, Moulitsas was offended that the freedoms he pledged his life for were so carelessly being tossed aside by the reckless and destructive Republican administration.

Daily Kos has grown in those five years to the premier political community in the United States, with traffic of about 600,000 daily visits. (Click on the rainbow box at the bottom of the page for up-to-date stats.) Among luminaries posting diaries on the site are President Jimmy Carter, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and dozens of other senators, congressmen, and governors. But, even more exciting than that, tens of thousands of regular Americans have used Daily Kos to lend their voice to a political world once the domain of the rich, connected, and powerful.

Of course he would.

That's what Rush tells him to do.

FYI…. I haven’t listened to Rush in years.

I’ve got a sample of one of those premier political discussions right here Binky. Folks can decide for themselves if it sounds vile and hate-mongering.

UPDATED: McCain is getting $58k/yr for being "disabled"

Let's jump right to the comments section.

Quote:
I get about $4800 a year for being disabled. But I'm not married to some slut that is worth $100 million. Bummer. If only I had been a power-hungry shit bag like McSame I might have played my cards right.

Pick some better language I'm giving you a hide, just because I don't think using the word "slut" is justifiable at all.

Cindy McCain might have been a pill-popper, a thief, and a homewrecker, but the word "slut" is inappropriate and offensive.

Pill popper, thief and homewrecker are more acceptable than slut?

They are all verifiable charges.
She stole pills from a medical-aid charity in order to feed her drug habit:

She also began dating McCain while he was still married to his first wife:

So I can back up those charges with facts. They aren't pretty, but neither is Mrs. McCain's history.

Oh, I agree but I didn't quite understand the outrage people had at the word slut. What I've read suggests it fits as well as the other terms. Beginning with the daily mail article you link to.

LOL
Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't most people prefer being called a slut to being called a pill-popper, thief or homewrecker? And isn't homewrecker just a subset of slut anyway?

Not arguing with the HR, but I think it's funny that you HR and then call her worse names in your admonition comment.

by chaboard on Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 06:18:35 PM PDT

I think the point is that the thief, homewrecker, and pill-popper labels are all factually based.

The slut epithet is just a nasty word for a woman you don't like that implies promiscuity, as far as I know, it doesn't apply to Cindy McCain.

It really pisses me off to HR this... ...first, I don't like the "S" word and it shows an underlying disrespect for women, which ruffles my feathers. And then there's the matter of my comment in your particular thread which only TU's can read now, dammit! Why couldn't you have kept your wits & previewed your comment and re-phrased it intercaust?

Highwayman, ever heard that expression: "a drowning man will clutch at any straw" - that's you!

Let's take a proper reading, rather than your "selective" editoring:

This just up on Americablog.com:
Why is McCain getting $58,000 a year in disability income?
John Aravosis (DC)
First off, I find it fascinating that John McCain, who is refusing to vote for the GI Bill for our troops because "it's too generous," is himself getting $58,000 a year, tax-free, from the US government for his military service. Had McCain been getting that amount every year since Vietnam, that would total $2,000,000 for the man who isn't into overgenerous government. I just find that interesting.
Holy wheelchairs, Batman!

Now I have no problem with retirement pay for military veterans. My own father gets retirement pay for his 20 years of service as an Army officer. One time I asked him about it when I was young and rebellious, and he explained to me that there are few jobs where one of the requirements is to lay down your actual life. Fair enough.
But this? If he's "fully disabled" as the article claims, then why is he running for President?

A “proper reading” Binky includes everything that site allows to be posted instead of just the fluff you want to embrace.

FWIW, I’m doing just fine and high and dry. You on the other hand are going to great desperate lengths in an attempt to gloss over the facts.

Because maybe, as an officer in the military, that is what his income would be? I doubt he recieved that from the beginning. I am a disabled vet, and get disabality, and it goes up every year by 3%.
I also believe he is not for the GI bill, as it is written, because of not covering certain vets and because of other items attached to it. At least that is what I gathered. As for his wife being a "slut"........jealous maybe?

Hubby is also a retired vet. But he wasn't a POW. I'm not really sure his life was on the line, although he did do some pretty crappy service - in Honduras and other rotten places. His retirement pay isn't a whole lot - we won't retire rich when we retire, but the medical stipend attached to it is a real lifesaver. I wonder if that's included in McCain's total. I'm not bothering to check it out, though, because I have a deep belief that the man deserves what we can pay him. A POW has done his service to the country in a real way. Even if he weren't running for President.
