Still, regardless of his birthplace and religion (both of which are still very opaque), why would any person vote for him. There are more holes in his statements than any other politician. He wants to play games with the flag and patriotrism, yet these are the two easiest ways to START winning over the voting public. What a jackass!

Yes, I should not be so shallow....but shouldn't I? What is this person really saying when not appearing patriotic? To me, it says he could give a damn about this country. Then, when you fill in the blanks of his background, kind of makes you think! Is this a radical muslim looking to get into the highest office in American government?

Go ahead you Obama supporters! Start defending this ass. No, I don't like the republican nomination, but it is a damn site better than the dems! I really would rather have Hillary, Howard Dean, or any other dem than Obama!
Perhaps we could hear from the main Obama supporters here...Bubba, Wordy, Binky, 88, JHMOM...???

They simply can’t find a defense (or even an excuse) for the Donkey King.

Poll after poll show Obama is currently a falling star. Here's yet another poll where he dropped 10 points in two months.

Quote:
When last we had a L.A. Times/Bloomberg poll to peruse, the result that stood out (aside from Barack Obama's 12-percentage point lead over John McCain in a head-to-head match-up) was what we termed the "passion gap" -- a marked difference in enthusiasm levels that favored the Democrat in the June survey.

The new, just-released poll not only shows the race between the two dramatically tightening -- into a virtual dead heat, with Obama leading in the head-to-head by only 2 percentage points -- but it also identifies a distinct McCain asset: a huge advantage on the question of experience.

The survey of almost 1,250 registered voters showed that the vast majority have no doubt McCain is qualified for the White House. Asked if the Republican had the right experience to be president, 80% said yes (with only 14% saying no).

By contrast, close to a majority -- 48% -- said Obama lacks the experience for the job (with 44% saying yes)....

Look to see more of this kind of stuff in the next few days.

WASHINGTON — A massive e-mail and Internet campaign is under way aimed at derailing the nomination of Barack Obama and making Hillary Clinton the party’s standard bearer next week at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

“It’s downright nasty,” said Memphis, Tenn., superdelegate and city council member Myron Lowery, who has shared dozens of the messages he’s received with The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal newspaper....

Honestly this is probably just nitpicking. Those complaining and those spreading it around could do better.

It's just a tad unsettling to me that Obama is the heir-apparent to the Dem throne, but our dear Sen Clinton seems to still hold out hope of stealing the nomination. I don't get that - why would she try to unseat Obama now and divide the party? And I'm not writing with any political bias this time. I just don't understand.

It appears to be a grassroots movement. I can tell you that during the primaries it got really nasty between the two camps. Hillary supporters were harassed and literally run off from certain established left-wing sites. Many of the Obama smears blamed on the right-wing started within the Hillary camp.

There is still a lot of animosity out there and Hill’s supporters are planning demonstrations at the convention. They plan to fight right down to the roll call vote on Thursday. With Obama’s sinking popularity and the already close delegate count its possible Hillary supporters could pull it off. Remember that the super delegates can change their minds at any time and many will put a Democrat win in November over loyalty to either candidate.

This convention is a must see for political junkies on both side of the fence.
