KUSA - Some viewers contacted 9NEWS Saturday, questioning the design of the credentials to see Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party's presidential nomination at INVESCO Field at Mile High.

The viewers say with the stars and blue field in the lower left corner, it looks like an upside down American flag. Published flag etiquette states the stars should always be displayed in the upper left corner. An upside down flag represents an international symbol of extreme distress.

Matt Chandler with the Obama campaign says the flag is not upside down. He says it is a stylized flag designed to blend the stars on Senator Obama's shirt with the flag blowing in the wind.

Natalie Wyeth with the Democratic National Convention Committee sent 9NEWS the following statement Saturday night: "The DNCC community credentials incorporate patriotic design elements. They do not depict an actual American flag. The DNCC has full and complete respect for the flag and all rules of display."

Yes, I should not be so shallow....but shouldn't I? What is this person really saying when not appearing patriotic? To me, it says he could give a damn about this country. Then, when you fill in the blanks of his background, kind of makes you think! Is this a radical muslim looking to get into the highest office in American government?

There was a controversy over BO’s birth certificate because he was slow about producing one when reporters ask. The delay caused rumors to get started that could have been avoided if he had been more prompt. It was posted on his website and cross posted to the DKos. Then several people tried to examine it for a forgery. It had been Photoshopped to put it on the net and some got all excited about that. To the best of my knowledge it’s accepted that he was born in Hawaii and if the DNC hasn’t checked it out by now they are far more stupid than I give them credit for. Obama does have duel citizenship with Kenya.

I do not believe BO is a practicing Muslim. He was baptized a Christian when he was in his twenties but before that it’s not clear to me what, if anything religious, he was. I do believe he has Muslim sympathies since his Dad and step-dad were Muslim and his former pastor of twenty years was a converted Muslim that regularly printed Hamas writings in the church bulletin.
