| China envy Why Team Obama lets this guy open his mouth without a teleprompter is a mystery to me.
“Why aren’t we doing the same thing?” he asks. Probably because we don’t have an oppressive Communist government that wanted to put on a good front for the world to see during the Olympics. The Chinese government controls all of the industry and all of wealth. Its people are repressed. The news and Internet are filtered by the government. If citizens speak out they are sent to reeducation camps or shot. And China fuels its industrial growth with coal and oil becoming the number one polluter in the world. But they have nice infrastructure! At least the part they let us see. Obama should fire his 300 foreign policy advisers and demand a refund.

| A nice day like today makes me glad we aren't China and that we live in Kansas. I read my non-government controlled newspaper, washed the cars, and did some other work outside, enjoying the sun and beautiful partly cloudy sky. From watching the olympics, I wonder when the last time is those poor oppressed people over there have actually seen a clear blue sky instead of gray smog? |

| With that short of a clip it is really hard to understand the context. That being said, I don't really have first-hand or reliable knowledge as to the infrastructure of China or Beijing more specifically, but I can guess that it's probably not much to be envious about. Government isn't much to envy, either. |

| I agree, Agnostic. But of course their infrastructure is good...right now. They're hosting the Olympic Games! We'd do the same damn thing. Called putting your best foot forward. Holy God. Which rock did this clown crawl out from under?
