| High Noon in Duel for White House Today is a Bank Holiday in Britain and I've spent the day catching up on yesterday's papers, in particular The Sunday Times. There is a very interesting article by Andrew Sullivan which I think is worth reading. Basically he's saying that the "phoney war" is over as the candidates square up for the most compelling contest in a generation. In case some of you think that this is an article bashing the old fella, it isn't, it simply gives a balanced and interesting examination of both candidates: High noon in duel for White House - Times Online

| I read this article and I honestly thought it was fair and balanced. And I say that most sincerely. Quote:
Interest, you ask? $1 a week for every $5 borrowed with me having your car as collateral until you repay the total loan, seems fair to me.

| Presidents put their holdings in blind trusts, lowly Congress critters do not. The question about houses that McCain was asked was how many he and his wife owned. Since he and his wife keep separate finances there is no reason for him to know all the details of her investments. Some of those houses are titled to her companies. Some are occupied by family members. The McCains themselves have a condo in Washington, a condo in Phoenix and a ranch.

| AoO's post said, "When a person is in the Congress they can't know about all of their investments. It's some act, I forget what it is...but the stuff goes in a blind trust type deal with someone else managing it for them." Is he incorrect?
