You have managed to highjack the thread and once again turn it into an "anti U.S." deal...questioning why we (the U.S.) spend so much money on the military compared to the rest of the world. You may say your are not anti-American but you sure seem that way to me. You always say "I love you Americans and your ways...but...bash bash bash". Why don't you give it up. Again...clean up your own house before you critisize someone else's.
I hate to say it, but I agree. The great thing about America is we are allowed to criticize and question what is going on. Most people on here are able to do that in a civil way most of the time, even though it does occasionally get out of hand. Binky, we respect your opinions, but your constant basing of America from across the pond is starting to get out of hand. What is the last positive thing about America that you have posted? Regarding your earlier posts, I would love it if we didn't have to spend so much on defense, as that money could do very good things elsewhere. But the world we live in today requires that our military be at the cutting edge on technology and be well funded. FYI, other people are more likely to listen to your opinions if you post them in a more factual manner instead of shoving them down people's throat and badmouthing their country and its peoples' way of life.

Binky, wasn't it you that asked what we were going to do when Russia invaded Georgia? Every little thing that goes wrong, whether it be invasions ot tsunamis, our military is asked to be there. Alot of that money is spent being the big brother that helps our friends and allies when requested.

The USNS Comfort is not the only one in the fleet. How many hospital ships did Iran send to aid and assist in any disaster.

Binky, I have to agree on the last few posts concerning your attitude towards the U.S. I think some of us have been very patient with you, but it's growing rather thin. Most Europeans should kiss the ground everyday for what the U.S. has done for that part of the world, (WWI, WWII etc.), but that was a few generations ago for some people. The U.S. is certainly not a perfect country but I think we do pretty good with what we have. Please be a bit more respectful if you can, or stay on your own side of the road.

You're one of the biggest thread hijackers on the board. You turn every thread into either an illegal immigration issue or you spew your hatred of democrats or some other group. There's no wonder why you lead the board on posts, you turn every thread into the same crap and won't shut up(i admit hyperbole, but you get the point). So why don't you give it up?

I am getting rather tired of the patronising attitude of a few people on here. Any contrary view expressed, or any serious questioning, is almost immediately condemned as being "anti-American", which it most definitely is not. These same few people seem to believe that the concept of free speech is OK as long as what's being said fits in with their views, if it doesn't, they resort to insulting me by calling me "anti-American".
That being the case I think it's time to say good-bye and move on.
Thanks to the majority of good people on here who I've enjoyed talking with. Keep up the good work!

    Back on Topic...

    What I like about McCain:

Sarah Palin! She is everything McCain isn't. I am not a big McCain supporter, but figured he is the best of two poor choices.

    What I like about Obama:

He is charismatic, young and black. He struck me as a real potential candidate, early on, then he spoke. Thought he and Hillary might have been a better duo, as they would off-set eachother a little.

What I don't like about Obama:

I don't like the constant flip-flopping, non-patriotic approach, how horrible America has been for his past adult life....I could go on.

    C'mon Bink,
You know everyone that has critisized your constant bashing are only practicing their right to free speech. Unbeknownst to you, free speech works both ways in this country. You bash, then we bash. You have those that believe in the same ideals as you, and those of us that don't, will be contrary to your opinions. If you want to play on our playground, know the rules of the game. BTW, if your leaving, can I have your casino money??:D

What is with everyone taking everything so personal on here?? We are all mostly anonymous, so wtf? Is everyone wearing their feelings on their computer montior?

No, we don't all have to just get along, but for the purpose of entertainment, I would like to see less thread hi-jacking, so I can at least know what the topic is on page 2, 3, and 4....

Black? You like him because he is black? What does that have to do with his leadership or decision making potential? If I was to say I liked McCain because he is white would that make me a racist?

    Heck yes!

You know that if Obama doesn’t win it’s because the country is racist. Be ready to hear it for the next four years.
