    I searched long and hard last night for reputable news sites that said Palin supported the secession of Alaska from the USA. I found none. All I could find were leftist blogs, democratic news sites and a British site or two that stated it as if it were a fact. One blog even said that ABC News confirms that she supported the secession of Alaska from the US. I then went to ABC News to search for the info and found none.

    PS. I guess I misspoke earlier when I said that Palin was a MILF. There is a new site on the internet... VPILF.com

    All great religions, in order to escape absurdity, have to admit a dilution of agnosticism. It is only the savage, whether of the African bush or the American gospel tent, who pretends to know the will and intent of God exactly and completely.

    That video to me just seems like a Governor sending a message to a group of people in her state. She might as well have been sending a message to the convention of Fishermen United or something. I didn't hear her say "I agree with your message and down with America!"

    Stuff like this distracts from the real issues and her policies. I don't care if that kid is hers or not (I believe it is) but I do care if she lied. I don't care if her daughter is pregnant although I do care that some of her supporters act as if it's the second coming or something and yet wouldn't give the same support to the other side in the same situation.

    I care about her policies (and lack of) way more than I care about this drama. I think the drama might even be stirred more by the Republicans so that she gets some sympathy votes and so her policies aren't actually talked about as much.

    It's not so much what she says in the video but why it's there in the first place. Why is she making such an effort to commend another party? The connection is there.

    And I do care. The Repubs want everyone to put Country First! So why should their VP be an exception?

    It reminds me of a case back in the mid-nineties of a Republican candidate for Congress attending a meeting hosted by a militia group. The media went nuts about her association with a “fringe group.” She explained that it was a meet the candidates event that her opponent had also been invited to. She went on to say that those folks were constituents and voters like everyone else.

    Breakaway groups are fueled by folks that feel that their views and concerns are being ignored. Listening to them is a good way to keep them in the mainstream instead of isolating them.

    Something from the LA Times article that Agnostic linked confirmed what I was already thinking;

    Leaders of the party say many of its 13,681 registered members have joined out of frustration over restrictions that the federal government has placed on the use of its vast land holdings in Alaska....
    Alaska has a great wealth of natural resources that would provide a lot of well paid jobs. What stands in the way are politicians in Washington. I think that I understand their attitude.

    The truth is that I do care too. It's just that there are so many other reasons to question her. Her policies for one. I just think the nitpicking thing that they did with Obama is happening to her now and it isn't any cooler seeing it done to her. The hypocrisy about that on these boards is hilarious but I digress.

    It's no secret that I am an Obama supporter. That being said I'm trying my best not to be a hypocrit by whining about the nitpicking on Obama and then doing it to her.

    I don't know. Either way I'm scared to be honest. America is in trouble and I just want everyone to really think about their choices instead of explode in a fury of accusations, nitpickiness and smear campaigns.

    Whatever.

    Your points are valid and I guess the level of "nitpicking" is open to perception of the supporter. They have already went after Palin's family but they haven't went after any of Obama's family. His father has had kids with like 4 or 5 different women. Where is Wolf Blitzer talking about that? The only thing that really got play in the media concerning "the big "O"" was the Jeremiah Wright thing and that was mainly because Bill O' went with the story and the media had to follow after it was out.

    May I ask what legislation Obama has sponsored or what bills has he passed that cause you to think he would make a good president. What has he accomplished? (keeping this positive!)

    Do you really believe America is "in trouble"? Forgive me for being an optimist but I don't think we are "in trouble". To me that alludes to defeatism. We are going through an economic slow down like any other country has...we have been through this before and will go through it again....a few years ago it was the tech bubble bursting...(remember that? the dot com'rs losing everything over night)..the S&L problems...enron..etc. There will always be sectors that go south fast and we always recover...because we are not a nation "in trouble"...we are a strong, hard working nation full of people that will perservere. We have spots in the country that are in harder times than others but over all the U.S. is OK and will be ok. The dollar is getting stronger daily, oil prices are going down. It's an election year and there will always be uncertainty in an election year...not to mention a war on two fronts going on. I don't buy into the America "in trouble" thing. If the media paints a gloom and doom picture and tells people how bad off they are they start to believe it. I do understand some people are having harder times because things cost more but again that is tied into economic upswings and downturns.
