How 'bout them Chiefs?

I watched the whole 1st quarter. Then part of the 2nd. Just couldn't watch anymore. Seems that nothing was going right - and I can't stand looking at Marty anyway. So, I went and studied for a while. Came back at the end of the 3rd quarter, and thought maybe we had a chance. I thought too soon, though - the 4th quarter was really bad.

So. My question out for debate is.....is this a Quarterback problem...is this a receiver problem....is it a defense problem.....or all of the above?

I personally thought the QB played well today, especially knowing what he's been through this past week. Our defense sucked - always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Tony Gonzales was finally turned loose with a couple of receptions, but too few, too late.

Any other ideas?

normally id say defense, but today they played a solid game. trent green threw for 347 and 2 TD. Recievers were good too, 8 different recievers.
Running game wasnt a big factor. KC has two quality backs, Johnson and Holmes.
they just got outplayed today. like i said normally id pin it on the defense, today the two starting D tackles. defense recovered a fumble and got an int. however they did allow 324 yards in the air and 3TD. ya, lets say defense. the Chargers are good though.

The CHEFS suck anymore, and I am about to give up on them. I watched part of the game just to see how Sproles did for the Chargers.
I think Vermiel needs to retire.

Cheifs never stood a chance from the start. San diego was hungry. They wanted that win more than ever and for the first time since I can remember, Chargers had more weapons than KC. Holmes could only wish he was as dangerous as LT. And Gates has established himself as the premier tight-end in the leage. Brees is throwing the ball with more confidence than green... and thats just on the offensive side. I will say KC has Dante Hall. so their best player is 175lbs 5'8" ....maybe Hall should start taking snaps

Dante Hall is not the Chiefs best player. There are several Chiefs better than Hall. He is a gifted kick/punt returner but there are better players on the team. I won't argue with you that LT is one of the best this year. He's a workhorse. Gates has distinguished himself as one of the best TE's in the league and one of Bree's fav. targets. He catches almost 70% of the balls thrown to him and he gets a lot of opportunity. Too bad the Chefs don't utilize Gonzo that much anymore.

Million dollar contracts aside, here is why Daunte is best; You'll have superstars on both sides of the ball, they'll come and go just like they have for the Chiefs and every other team in the league, but a "special teams" threat such as Hall that hasn't been equaled since Deion Sanders wore a cowboys uniform is rare, a once in a life time. The bottom line is, If I'm on the kicking side of "special teams" the one player out of 31 other "return men" I'm not looking forward to stopping is Daunte. If you're a NFL fan, it doesn't matter if you are for the Chiefs or for the team they're playing. When Hall touches the ball, you stop breathing and you are no longer relaxing in the recliner. How many players on T.V. can have this effect? Barry Sanders was the best at it. I once forced myself into a mild heart-attack watching him one Monday in September, 10 years ago. Anyway... if not Hall, then who?
