very true, people in dodge city never support any teams, such as our high school or our semi pro team, as of tonight our dodge city red demon are now 4-0 and i bet next week when it's our homecoming we still won't fill our stands with any support of our towns people.

Now, some of the other sports were lacking in fans. Baseball, wrestling, girls sports, etc, were pretty bare. They even had no cheerleaders, and had to raise money to buy uniforms. The DCHS excuse was, because football paid it's way, and the other sports didn't. Simple fact of life, win and you will get more support. Lose, and people will start not showing up. |

I don't understand why everyone is so concerned about filling the stands. As a player and a coach I would think they would be more concerned about what is going on out on the field of play. I would think the fans would be more concerned about what is going on out on the field of play, not that the stands aren't full. 2006 in DC is a lot different than DC in 1986 or 1996. There are different families and other venues that people find to entertain themselves on Friday night. Don't take it personally. I was at the Hutch Central game and it was only 1/2 full too. Hutch is #1 in 6A. I guess highschool football isn't as popular as it used to be. That is my only explaintion.

They are so concerned about filling the stands because of $$$$! You are right, one of the reasons is that people are so busy this time of the year. There is "nothing to do" in DC, remember! Between my job, meetings, shows, and being the busiest time of the year for me, does not make it any easier. I have been out of town every nite that the Demons have played. I did find a newspaper this morning that showed the Liberal score. Good job Demons!! Hopefully, I can catch a game or two before the season is over. ![]()

Everytime after we scored I noticed to be honest. Coming off the field celebrating with your teammates, then the cheerleaders are cheering their hearts out and the fans, the few that were there, were sitting on their hands. Come on people, show some enthusiasm. Its football, its not supposed to be quiet!!!
