There's never a justification to lay in wait for someone and chase their car down and riddle it with bullets. Apparently, there were others in the vehicle that were also hit, but the injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

Until we hear the whole story, we'll never know whether it was a case of mistaken identity, anger toward the Bronco's or whether this particular guy had some issues with somebody in the bar that night.

It's easy to believe the latter - sometimes sports stars have bigger-than-life egos and it doesn't serve them well off the field. Death is seldom a just payback and should be meted out by courts of law, not by angry, possibly drunk citizens.

Son says - take a look at his tats........ doesn't know if that had anything to do with it but he felt connected enough I guess to display them. Who knows what happened - I find it hard to believe a fan or fans would spray his vehickle just cause they lost - they have had worse seasons and nobody got shot.

{police spokesman}Jackson said there was a dispute at a nightclub several blocks from the shooting where Williams and his group had attended a party. He said the argument didn’t specifically involve Williams, according to witnesses, and the confrontation wasn’t physical, just taunts. He also said there were no shots fired from inside the limo.

“Why this happened, we’re not sure,” Jackson said.

Police were searching for a white Suburban or Tahoe with dark-tinted windows. Jackson wouldn’t identify any of the other passengers nor would he confirm whether any other Broncos players were in the limo, which can hold 23 people.

It looks like the guy killed wasn't actually involved in the dispute!

Nope - just the killin.......... seems to me they may have been after the driver for all we know! Just a waste of life - then again most homicides are.

they'd have been nuts not to have signed him - sounded like big bucks, but maybe there was somebody else lookin' for him. The only problem is, when he's on the field, the whole defense is gunnin' for him. He doesn't stand a chance unless the defense is clueless. Not only is he powerful on the field, he is also a very giving sort to many charities up here - with appearances and such. He's grown up a lot. Still fairly full of himself, but that's not a crime.

Now, if Herm would just realize that he is on the team. Maybe they could throw him a pass once in awhile.

Yeah, he doesn't do a whole lot of that anymore, does he? Usually, when he's on the field, he's double-teamed and doesn't stand a chance. It's nice when they use him as a decoy for LJ, though.....

Yeah, but does it do any good to have a "decoy", when they intend on giving the ball to LJ anyway?? The offense needs to mix it up and balance the attack better. Doesn't do any good to have all these "weapons" when you never use them.

Except his MO, regardless of QB, is to run, run, and run. Only pass if he thinks he has to.
