Deer Season
I'm curious as to how well the hunters did this year for deer. I took down a whitetail buck and doe this morning since it was the first day of regular firearm season. The butchers in Minneola had 9 deer already dropped off by 1130am.

It's legal to shoot two deer in Kansas now? I should of got my landowner/tenant permit this year but was to busy. Maybe next year.

Is it hard to find a butcher shop to process deer anymore?

By the time you pay for the processing and the extras, it makes "Beef" look alot cheaper and it tastes alot better than deer. Used to be that most processors only took so many, then they wouldn't take anymore for processing.

I've only found butchers willing to take deer in Minneola and Fowler. Jones' and Kirbys don't take any. Outside of private butchers, you'll have to make a roadtrip.

Hey everyone, just wondering if any of you all got a big buck this year? One of my buddies had his eye on two monsters in the area, one hunter got one of them and then when the season started he couldn't find the other one so he had to settle for a doe. Lets hear how you all did. Oh this if for the edit, the buck which the other hunter beat my buddy to went 16 points easily, he was huge.

I have seen alot of nice deer this year, however I don't hunt them anymore. I have gotten to where I would rather look at and enjoy wildlife, than kill it! So what have you gotten RD54? Any luck yet?

Bah, no, I am still in Fort Worth taking finals. Will be back in about 2 weeks though. I don't deer hunt, I just like to look at them when scouting before the season. I am more of a bird hunter, and will be doing plenty of that when I get back to town.
