Any Royals fans here? I'm from there era when they used to kick ass all the time. The team this year...although marinating in the basement, has a lot of exciting things happening. They are playing good baseball and just game off winning 2 out of 3 @ Boston. they are 19 -16 since 8 June and have won 7 of their last 11 series. They have some exciting young players also. Butler is tearing it up. Their bullpen, although overworked, is wicked. Soria has a 1.98era in 41 innings and hasn't given up a run in the last several innings. Dotel is a pretty good closer also. Meche has a 3.69 ERA with almost 100 K's this year. If he had more run support he would be better than a 6-6 pitcher. They are on the right track with their new GM. If they spend a little more $$ they can be the Detroit Tigers of the A.L. next year.

going to see them this coming monday vs the yankees. all you can eat hot dogs+peanuts!!!!!

Have fun! I saw KC play at New York back in the day. I love going to the ball park. As old as it is it's still a beautiful park and it's not a bad way to spend an evening. The Friday night fireworks are awesome!

Scary, isn't it?? I wonder how soon it will be before they trade away all of their best talent??

Actually Dotel will probably be traded. I hate that they developed some great talent and then couldn't afford to keep them...IE: Johnny Damon and Carlos Beltran who is arguably one of the most complete players in baseball.

In a perfect world I am sure the Royals would love to trade Dotel, Sweeney, Sanders, and Gruds, But I only see them getting anything decent with Dotel, as the other 3 have been hurt for most of the season so far.

I hope that Buckner gets the call up from Omaha soon, and maybe Hochevar can turn it around and make the rotation next year. Next year could be a good year for the Royals...

i think that is best that grienke is in the bullpen. he really does not have to worry about starting and just go in relaxed and throw the ball.

I am a big fan of KC and still hold out hope that they will be competative once again
