| Let's just say that I view all sports as full contact. Guess that's why I do not play golf or go bowling with anyone anymore.........lol

| I know how to settle this. We're going to do this on the honor system. Go into your backyard and tape off a soccer goal on your fence. Tape all your toes together on 1 foot then try to kick a goal. It won't be graceful, but I be you can get it done. Now, tape your thumb to your pointer finger, pick up a football and throw a pass at the same fence. Anywhere on the fence! What? You mean to tell me you couldn't even pick up the football without your thumb? One question for you Dutch. By my count you suffered 7 broken bones in your foot. And each time it put you out of that sport for 6 weeks while the bone healed, right? No? You mean your bones aren't like regular bones that require around 6 weeks to heal? Is it the oatmeal? The reason I ask is that it seems like I remember someone here suggesting that it's nearly impossible to run on a boken toe. Hm, sumpin don't add up here. Either tough guys run on broken toes, or guys like you spend a lot of time sitting on the bench healing. |

| Okey doke------and to settle the argument.......you are correct about being able to still kick a ball with my toes tied and not being able to throw a ball. Now, if you allowed someone to play soccer in that condition, basically worthless, then you go right ahead. You can allow the tied up finger person to play football because he can still perform in other areas, since football does not require everyone to be a quarterback and throw the ball. Soccer does require everyone on the field to be able to run and kick effectively, but you are correct in your example. As for the broken bones.....I never said I played professional sports or have played in sanctioned organized sports, but I have played sports for most of my life since about 7 years old. I broke all my toes at the same time while playing basketball for my squad in the Navy. I broke the bones in my foot, again all at the same time, while lifting weights and not paying attention. These are injuries I have had throughout my life, the last one last year, and to answer your question, I did sit on the bench in highschool alot. Actually, I did not play for any school teams after my sophmore year due to knee injuries. That does not mean I quit playing in tournements, intramural or city teams, just not for the school.

| Fair enough, Dutch. Maybe the thread has come full circle now. I hope Pick heals up and gets to play college football. It's a testament to his character that he took in the 2nd string QB and is trying to get him up to speed. A lesser character might be a little bitter about watching the 2nd string guy take his place. |

Reddemons54, I know who you are if you were a Junior Schartz's first year and for you to say that the ESPN game was a disappointment is wrong. I believe that year we didnt win a game. I am the same age as you and I can tell you this years team is twice the team we had and three times the East team we played. Not only a different team but a different coach as well. Times have changed buddy, East has a good team this year. They have a good shot at the Wichita city league title. And as for getting the ball to Thompson only once. You have to establish a running game before you can spread out and pass and that did not happen. |

| I don't think I argued who was a better team. And yep, we didn't win a game that year. The point is that DC is NOT supposed to lose to East, it just doesn't happen. Especially not in Dodge with the type of team that they supposedly have this year. Maybe its just me being hard headed and stubborn, I don't really know, but thats just the way I see it. |
