on another board you say
Quote:
If you consider the conditions it wasn't horrible. It was 7-0 with 5 minutes left in the game. DC's defense was on the field for about 3/4 of the game. They went for it on 4th and 10 at their own 23 and didn't get it, thats how East got the 2nd TD. The 3rd TD was a result of a shanked punt that gave East the ball at about the DC 30. DC lost Clayton Hubbell for the game in the 3rd quarter, he was a one man wrecking crew against BB. All in all, considering everything DC played admirably, they were just out matched. If you can get a hold of the tape I think most would agree.
You speak big of dodge on a state wide board, but when you come here you say ordering the game was a dissappointment. So which of your statement's do you truely agree with...DC played horrible or admirably. You can say that it was a horrible offensive game but i don't think it's the WORST. First game with a new QB, going up against a pretty solid Linebacker and DL crew. Things ain't gonna be the greatest.

While I am not going to rag on the team, they did their best, it is saying a lot when your whole Highschool team is based around one person, and when that person is gone the team can't regroup. Fumbles, bad kicks, dropped passes, missed tackles........these are fundementals and from what i have seen in quite a few teams, they are lacking everywhere. Unless our team can clean these things up, the basic things, then they will be in for a long season.

Reddemon, you're out of high school now; it's ok to move on.

Monster, get a life you cheap loser. If there ever was a "namby pamby" sport, it is soccer. It's boring to watch, boring to play. Give me a choice between watching Beckham play soccer, or watch a chess tournament. . . tough one! I'd probably just go take a nap instead.

He's probably been busy at the junkyard, furnishing illegal's housing!! No, that's not right, is it? They all have brand new furniture to go with their new Escalade. It's only us LEGAL Americans that have to work for a living, that can't afford luxuries nor sometimes necessities!!

ANyway, glad you are still alive Fred!!

I'll throw in my two cents, just to stir the pot even more with Zeb, Aft_Lizard, MITU and Fred Sanford.

First and foremost, I should mention that I am a FULLY LEGAL permanent resident of the USA, and have been for 5 years now. For this privilege I had to pay $2,000, have a raft of medical and police checks, and allow the FBI doctor the freedom to poke, prod and insert things into me. I do not own a Cadillac, nor do I claim benefits of any kind from the US government. In fact, it is quite likely that given my circumstances (which I won't bore you with here) that I pay a higher amount in taxes than a lot of others in town.

Secondly, the 'soccer' thing. Of course, it is your right to have an opinion that soccer (or chess for that matter) is not enjoyable to you. Opinion is what DodgeBoard is all about, and it shouldn't be taken too seriously I think. Always remember that opinions are like as*hol*s, everybody has one and everybody elses stinks!

Finally, I too was watching on TV (my wife was there though, working the concession stand as a volunteer). Based on my somewhat limited experience of this sport, it looked to me like for the first 3 quarters the game were somewhat evenly matched, even though the DC defense were on the field a lot, but in the 4th quarter the two Brown brothers (particularly the younger one, Bryce) came alive and got the better of a tired Dodge City team.

Thanks for the play-by-play as seen from a south of the border perspective. Given your previous ridicule of "our" sport, your opinion means very little.

Don't I get marks for effort?

Besides, I am not from 'south of the border' so your opinion of my opinion means very little.

Chin up.

Well, where ever you're from, it's evidently not here. When you're a guest, why go out of your way to offend your host?
