That is really what your missing. Change the game of soccer to the players picking up the soccer ball and throwing it with their toes and then maybe your argument might make sense. It would be hard to do. Then imagine how much harder it wold be with a broken big toe.

Good gravy, I feel like I'm trying to prove to you that 2+2=4. It does, really. There is so much wrong with what you said, I don't quite know where to begin. To begin with, the "foolishness" began with the guy you're defending, not me. Did you miss that fact? You must have because you've railed on ad nauseum about my argument foot vs hand, but totally ignored that Monster is the guy who made that point to begin with.

Secondly, a soccer team has more than one player who can score a goal - the team is not so dependent on any 1 player. The QB on the other hand is an active part of every single offensive play.

Thirdly, maybe you didn't know this, but a LOT less accuracy is required to score a goal in soccer than is required to get a pass to a receiver in football. The soccer goal is HUGE compared to a receiver's reach/path. A soccer goal is 2-dimensional and stationary. A QB's target is 3 dimensional and moving.

All of that really doesn't matter and misses the central point, which, for some reason you have chosen to ignore. The point is that in a single post, Monster ridiculed the country you live in, our sport of football, and a standout high school athlete who has suffered a serious injury that could affect his future in a big way. Let's hope that's not the case, but a little more respect is due the guy than he's getting here.

Yikes! This has gotten WELL out of hand. I thought I had done what was necessary to quench the flames in my last post, obviously not, so I will be a bit more direct about it this time around.

I apologise to Pick, to Fred Sanford, to Zeb, to Steven Gerrard, to anyone else who was offended or who thought that my off the wall comments about ONE sport and (inadvertantly) ONE person thought that meant I was disrespecting a whole nation, a whole culture and a whole way of life. If I had said I hate Waterworld would you assume it was a direct personal attack on Kevin Costner, then broaden the spectrum by saying I surely hated all movies?

Anyway, in closing I apologise to the American people who have so graciously accepted me into their country and communities.

I am admitting fault here, asking for forgiveness and wanting to let this go.
