Back yeas ago when I was at KU, the Hawks somehow was ahead of UCLA at halftime 24-0. The next day a sportwriter for the Topeka Capitol-Journal's lead was: When sportswriters across the nation saw the halftime score flashed on various scoresboards across the country, they must have wondered what the scorekeeper at KU was smoking.

Former Jayhawk standout John Zook is being inducted into the state's Sports Hall of Fame today in Wichita. I played against "Swoop," as we called him then in practice at Larned. He was head and shoulders, both literally and figuratively, above the rest of us.

Undefeated chickens with a schedule that amounts to almost nothing. The only real competition they have this year in their schedule is/was K-State, Oklahoma State, and Missouri. Of those, they only really have one game that is not at home. They had a tough time with Colorado yesterday, and K-State pretty easily routed them. If Josh Freeman wouldn't have been out in Aggieville until the wee hours the night before the game, the KSU/KU game would more than likely have had a different outcome.

True, but that fact is that KU's weak schedule plays to their benefits of the team they have. I'm sure Mangino isn't dumb and had it set up that way for the benefit of his team.

I'm just glad, that I'm not on the laundry staff of his team and have to deal with the towels that Mangino uses due to the fact that he can't reach his own ass when he goes to the bathroom.

I find it funny that KSU fans pull the "easy schedule" card. First off KU plays in the big 12 north...we have to play every team in the north. And we don't get to choose each year which 3 south teams we get to play....it just works out that way in rotation. Next year we get to play Texas, Texas Tech, and OU. The only games Mangino hand picks are the non-conference games. Yes they are "easy" teams and KU blew them all away. But K-state fans, let's not forget Mangino learned to pick easy non-conference games from a man he coached under. The Wildcat legend himself, Bill Snyder.

Come on Bubba, don't be a sore loser! I like all the Kansas teams, not just KU. I am glad to see that KU has a good Coach, and he is building a legitimate team!
Did you notice that KU didn't just beat those non-conference teams, but they blew them away. Also, wins on the road at CU and KSU. In the past, KU only won one road game. In addition, they play on the road against Missouri, A&M, and I think either Nebraska or OSU. Give the boys a little credit!

ON top of that KU is taking care of business and winning games. How many teams have lost to "games they should win" or "easy games"? They seem to be focused. Magino is a coach that does "more with less". I always thought that if he had the talent that Snyder had he would have not choked yearly like Snyder did.
