Mitchell Report for MLB

Wow...This report is long (close to 400 pages) and names about 77 or so current and former major league baseball players who were linked to HGH and steroids.

Some big names include: Clemens, Bonds, Pettite, Tejada, Sheffield and even a former Wichita state Shocker Mike Lansing.

The thing is...I don't think they can do anything to them because their use was all before the new rules took effect. Also this investigation had no supoena power so all it does it throw out some names and make some allegations but what can really come of it?

I don't think baseball has seen the worst of this yet. It's just one more thing to taint the sport. THE NFL is NOW America's past time.

As we drove through SC last week, the two gents I was with were listening. It was like watching the World Trade Center again. Every three minutes, it seemed to start all over and over and over. Now I know more about it than I ever wanted to. I thought it was a good time for a nap anyway.

Sports in my opinion has become far to competitive. I know I know, sports is all about competition, but it used to be about fun competition. The want to win and be the best should be judged by natural ability not through artificial means.

That being said, for all we know past sports greats like Babe Ruth could have been so great because he took enhancements. And where do you draw the line? What about a player that takes a shot of B12 before a game? Could it be considered "a performance enhancement?"

We take these forms of entertainment way too serious. We all know professional wrestlers abuse steroids, but do we care?

"Professional wrestling" is not a sport...it's entertainment. Pro Baseball and football while..entertaining is still a professional sport. Watching pro wrestling is no different than going to see a movie. The actors just prepare for their parts.

Pro Baseball and football while..entertaining is still a professional sport.

I'd say thats debatable. I've heard some are "prearranged" just like wrestling.

I'd also say actors/athletes using drugs to make them act/play better are as much fake as any wrestler.

But don't feel bad, those people that watch wrestling will swear it's real too.

While pro baseball and football have people that abuse drugs, as probably most sports do the majority don't. The outcome of games are not predetermined (hopefully). Wrestling is not this way. I would agree that people that use enhancements taint the game but it's still a sport.
