After watching them play.......both overated. They win more by luck than by anything else. If KU and NC go to the final four (more than likely), the winner of that game will most likely win the championship game.

I found the source of TIME's statistics. Here it is:

NCAA - 2007 NCAA Division I Graduation Success Rate (GSR) Data

It is for academic years 1997-2000. Data is ten years old. Not relevant. Nice try.

I think it was last year after KSU hired Huggins that he was asked about poor graduation rates at Cincinnati. I really liked his response. It was something to the effect of asking why a person goes to college. A person goes to college to get a job. The years when he had such low graduation rates, most of those players had jobs playing basketball in the NBA or overseas. I don't know exactly how they calculate the graduation rates, but I think I remember kids leaving early and Juco transfers differently. I imagine if Walker, Beasley, Rush, and Arthur leave college early then it will probably count against the graduation rate. But you know what? They went to college and will be coming away with pretty high paying jobs.

My source was TIME Magazine the current edition. I left it at work, but tomorrow evening when I get home I will give you the issue date and page number. It is the one with the Dalai Lama on the cover.

Graduation rates don't account for transfer players either. JR Giddens, David Padgett, Micah Downs, Alex Galindo, CJ Giles, etc etc are all counting against KU's graduation rate even though most are still in school. Get the point?

What point. I just posted what I read in TIME magazine. If you have a point to make, take it up with them....

J.R. Giddens- Transfered after a mutual agreement with Bill Self that it would be best to do that, after getting stabbed in the calf during a bar fight at the Moon Bar. Goes to New Mexico and then gets suspended from the team there...

David Padgett- Was recruited by Roy Williams and then Bill Self couldn't make him happy even though he (Padgett) gave it a year to see if he could work it out. Transfered to Louisville. Then, Bill Self recruited C.J. Giles to take the place of David Padgett.

C.J. Giles- Booted from the team by Bill Self after being cited by police for battery against a 20 year old woman.

Real fine examples you gave there.....

Doesn't really matter, Bubba! This is "sports', and it is a "money" game.
Why do you think KSU hired Bob Huggins?? It sure wasn't because he got kids to graduate! They hired Huggins because they wanted to win basketball games. And as far as KU this year, several of the kids are going to graduate with GPA's above 3.0. Some, like Sasha Kaun, have a GPA near to a 4.0.

The examples I gave were kids who were counting against KU's graduation rate even though they were no longer at the school and enrolled else where. I didn't say they were stand up individuals, though Padgett, Downs, and Galindo do seem to be in my opinion.
