What is your source that says Beasley isn't going to class? It's probably the same source that told Jason Fatlock of the KU Star that Beasley was driving around a Hummer even though he just has an older Tahoe.

I believe Kaun is majoring in computer science or something like that. The guy is actually pretty dang smart, despite the way he looks.

As for all the discussion earlier about women's basketball, I find it kind of boring also. But I can respect their abilities. If you really sit down and watch them play, you will see that they are much more fundamentally sound and much better shooters than the men. In a women's game, if they get an open look from 3, they will hit it. You won't see a women's team that only shoots 50% from the FT line (Memphis). Men's basketball has become too much about showing off and trying to get on ESPN. That is the reason we don't win anything in the Olympics anymore. The foreign teams still preach fundamentals and team play. Also, try looking up the GPA of the KSU women's team. I bet they are all over 3.0.

I saw the online TIME edition and then discovered where THEY got their stats. It is for the years 1997-2000. I provided the link. It is old data. I don't care where you read it. It's not relevant to 2008. You read it, saw it was disparaging to KU, logged onto your PC and repeated it without checking it. I don't need to take it up with TIME. You posted it............

Let's look a little closer Bubba.

JR Giddens just finished his last year of eligibility with New Mexico. They played their last game last week against Cal in the NIT. Giddens had a double-double for the game and led the Lobos in scoring and rebounding for the year.

David Padgett is playing for the Louisville Cardinals. They are still alive in the NCAA tournament. He is leading the team in scoring for the year.

Giles is probably in jail somewhere.

These three were Roy Williams recruits. Not Bill Self's. When their problems surfaced, he sent them packing. Roy as you may know is coaching at North Carolina. That's the team your earler post, quoting TIME magazine, touted as having the highest graduation rates among the top seeded teams, using ten year old data. So as you can see, these players may indeed be "real fine examples". At least two of the three seem to be.

While using the internet to "research" facts to support your own point of view, take a minute to dig up the whole story. It'll lend credence to the point your trying to make.

Actually Giles was a Self recruit. Actually he was a Kurtis Townsend follower after commiting to Miami.

And I'm sure that UNC faces the same problems that KU and any other college has with students going to other schools. However, Roy Williams recruits students who can play ball, whereas most of the others appear to recruit athletes that may or may not graduate, or athletes that feel if they don't get enough playing time at this college they will transfer to another college that will play them.

I could care less about KU, I saw that UNC was doing an outstanding job of getting their student/athletes a complete education! I checked it. I read it in the current issue of time that said it was from "a new study." I took them at their word and posted it, giving credit to the source where I read it. You do need to take it up with TIME if you think their data and fact checking is flawed. I didn't write it.
