Remember last year you beat Texas at Texas and lost badly to Nebraska, which had one of the worst defenses in all of CFB.
Well Bubba, I guess we just better pack it up and call it a season since we are NOT going to beat NU or CU. I wonder what evidence there is that we will not even stand a chance against these two middle of the pack teams. If I recall, KSU has beaten CU a few years in a row now, including last year when we sucked. The defense had already mailed in their season by the time we got to NU last year. NU has a first year coach. It is a historical fact that most teams with first year head coaches are inconsistent at best. I'm not really sold on Pelini as that great of a coach. The LSU defense was great before he came along and it continues to be great. I'm not saying we will beat either of these teams, but on a neutral field I bet we win 4 out of 10 against each of them.

Why can't we get excited about beating a team? Yeah North Texas isn't that great, but its hard to argue with their offensive scheme and the numbers they are capable of putting up. No one on here is saying KSU is going to win the Big 12. We are simply saying that we saw good fundamentals and heart from a team that lacked those two qualities last year. That gives us optimism that KSU can be competitive in most, if not all games this season.

The fact we beat Texas the last two years in a row just proves that in college football, any team can beat another team any given weekend.

KSU lacks stability. With its seemingly neverending musical chairs with the Coaching staff every year, it makes it hard to get into the groove on a program. In addition, I believe there may be a discipline problem, but that was what I heard from some of the players. I hope KSU and KU both kick everybodies butts this year, but time will tell.

KU actually looks tougher this year than last, but they play a lot tougher schedule this year. Also, I think Nebraska might be a sleeper.

By all means be excited about your team. I'm excited about the Chiefs this year...but I still realize a 4 win season is in the stars......None of us are sports experts and this is all just debate...will they or won't they...that's about it. None of us are the ultimate prognosticators or we would all be wealthy....Good luck to the Cats!

I'd like to be excited about the Chiefs, but I think as long as Carl Peterson is in charge, there won't be anything to get excited about. They are such a young team, that I think just showing improvement will be considered a successful year. This will be one of those years for the Chiefs that I think you just throw the record out and try to improve and develop the young talent.

Wildcats blew away Montana State. Of course, they were no Fresno State, but still was not even a game. Alot of the fans left at halftime. Hope the Cats can keep up the game once the Big 12 gets started.

Also, watched some of the Sooners and Tigers games. Great quarterbacking on both teams. The Big 12 looks to have a lot of elite quarterbacks in the country.

I am not saying to give up, you guys could indeed surprise everyone. But alot of football punditry sees what is going on in Aggieville. Until KSU plays a major D1 opponent these warm up games tell us nothing more than KSU having superior talent to them. Coaching will only be exposed against better coached teams or better talented teams.

In three weeks if you guys play well against Texas Tech then most will reconsider what Prince is doing. Loiusville right now sucks so they arent or shouldnt be much of a struggle, but they could surprise who knows.

I was at the game and left after the 4th quarter started. 31-7 in the first quarter! They got their 7 after a short drive from a muffed kickoff, Rossman missed the ball or something, it happened so quick I missed it.

Special teams is strong again this year! 2 blocked punts which resulted in 2 touchdowns. Murphy and Banks both returned punts and kickoffs well. Next Wed, the 17th will be the real test at Louisville, the game that night will be on ESPN2. Then on the 4th of Oct. back to Manhattan for the Texas Tech game. I have tickets for that one as well!

Really hard to tell how the Cats will do this year.

Louisville looks AWFUL right now, so a W over them isn't phenomenal, but it is certainly a good sign.

It's all going to come down to how well that many JUCO xfers can come together and play as a unit, and can Freeman not throw a million picks?

KSU has a chance of winning 8 games this year, I think. But they also have a possibility of another 5-7, 6-6 disappointment.
