Well, the Wildcats were "real impressive" last night! Where is their defense? They tackle like a bunch of old ladies! :D Freeman shows signs of brilliance one minute, then looks like a rookie the next. :( Of course, Ron Prince is a "brilliant" Coach? :o Looks like it is going to be a fairly long season for all of Kansas football----Chiefs, KU, KSU, DCHS

I saw some things I didn't like during the Montana St. game, mainly the fact that we couldn't tackle and we couldn't run the ball. Those were magnified last night. Very poor effort. KSU must learn how to tackle and stop the run. KSU MUST learn how to run the ball. We play LA-Lafayette in a week and a half, I'd like to see us actually try to run the ball that game. Unless you are TT or Mizzou, you can't just pass every play and expect to win. You have to have balance and be able to control the clock. We don't know if we can run the ball because we don't even try. We have a couple of short runs and then just completely abandon it. The nice thing about being able to run the ball is that if you keep pounding it at a defense, they eventually wear down. Teams get most of their rushing yards in the second half. Well, by that point, KSU has completely abandoned the run.

As for the defense, I don't think our corners are good enough to play man defense as much as they do. We need to do more zone. I guess the only good thing about our run defense being so awful is that most Big 12 teams are passing teams. Of course if we are too stubborn to try more zone defense then passing teams will tear us up too.

Prince and Co. have a lot of work to do the next few weeks. I don't think 7-5 is possible now, but I still think 6-6 is a possibility. LA-Lafayette and Iowa St. will be wins 3 and 4. We just need to steal a couple from A&M, TT, CU, NU, or KU (OU and MU won't happen). The best chance for the 2 wins out of that group is probably A&M (not very good this year) and NU (game in Manhattan).

As for my take on Louisville, that team looks completely different than they did against Kentucky. They won't be world beaters this year, but they'll be a bowl team for sure. That running back was very good and the 6'8" receiver will be a stud once he learns how to catch the ball.

You see Texas Tech as a win for K-State? Um.. Techs going to bring a lot more offense than Louisville did last night, alot more scoring offense.. and even know Techs defense is suspect, I dont see K-State beating one of the teams that can challenge for the Big 12 title..

Iowa State and Lousiana Lafayette should be locks..

A&M is not the A&M of old.. so, that could be a great win..

Throw the book out the window on KU, rivals is rivals..

Nebraska.. who knows yet if NU is really a competator, or just beating the same schlocks they do every year..

I think K-State is going to have a hard time to be bowl eligable this season, mostly because of the conference.. and I dont see any at larges coming out of the Big 12 at 6 wins...

Don't be so hard on them dammit. They only gave up 300 yards rushing and 600 yards total offense.

Sooooooooo....all you Cat Backers tell me AGAIN how well you are going to do int he Big 12? What bowl game are you going to again? Hopefully you play Baylor....

What last night accomplished was it gave the 6-8 starting junior college transfers a look at what real Div. 1 college football is all about. The tackling is something that really needs worked on, arm tackles won't cut it as last night showed. We had several drives that showed the greatness that is on the team. Then we had some major malfunctions and total lack of concentration.

My question is where was Logan Dold? I didn't see him play at all. The Cats will still walk out the end of the season with 6-7 games in the win column.

Don't sell Louisville short. They had 303 yards rushing.

I only got a chance to catch the 4th quarter. From what I saw this game should have been uglier.

What's the deal with Freeman? I often give him the benefit of the doubt on passes to the sideline and VASTLY under throwing them. I think he's just avoiding an interception. That is..until he VASTLY under throws someone in the middle of the field.

What do you KSU'ers see? You guys watch him more than I do. Is he really that bad or should I continue giving him the benefit of the doubt?

All great religions, in order to escape absurdity, have to admit a dilution of agnosticism. It is only the savage, whether of the African bush or the American gospel tent, who pretends to know the will and intent of God exactly and completely.

He was extremely accurate in the 1st quarter of the game. But he started getting hit more often and he threw two picks in the 2nd quarter, which rattled him. He has an absolute rifle of an arm. His arm is probably as strong or stronger than Michael Bishop's was, and Beasley is much more accurate. However, if he gets hit a lot or makes too many mistakes, I still see that "deer in the headlights" look. I think he gets too easily rattled, and I think that is what you saw last night.

Really f-ing funny huh? Where were you last week when KSU beat A&M? You are the first one to pile on when we lose but somehow are silent when we win. For someone who claims to pull for the Kansas teams, I didn't see any compliments after KSU and KU won last week. You're nothing but a hater.

A "hater"....I think not... BUT I am a realist. THe only point I am trying to make is that sometimes "fans" are very nearsighted when it comes to "their" teams. I am a HUGE Chiefs fan but not nearsighted. I predict 4 wins at the very most. Jayhawks fans tempered their expectations somewhat despite coming off of a cinderella season...then we have the Cat backers....living in la la land. Dude...take an HONEST look at your team, who you have played and how many points you have given up. Take off your little purple at for one minute and do an honest assessment of your team. You just lost to a Colorado team that really isn't very good. Next you play Oklahoma, Kansas and Mizzou with the latter two being on the road. OU is going to skull f**K you at home and you really don't have a chance vs Mizzou or Kansas. After 4 straight losses you get a reprieve and get Nebraska at home...a team that took Texas Tech to overtime...at Texas Tech. (the same Tech team that beat you by 30 in your back yard) They SHOULD beat Iowa State and end the season on a "high" note. How your coach is keeping his job is beyond me. You should end up with 5 wins, 2 of them being in conference...again...not enough to keep a coaching job at a major program.

That is an objective look at your football team. You should try it sometime. If you can't do it let me know....give me a call..I would LOVE to bet with you on the games sometime.
