Wedding ring?

My significant other and I are getting married this fall and just got done purchasing the rings. This is going to be her second marriage and she gave me her original diamond solitaire ring and wrap around wedding band. It is a nice set, approx. size 6, and I would be letting it go for fairly cheap. She said when she bought it (yes, her ex made her buy her own wedding ring) about 3 years ago, it retailed for right at a grand. I just see no need for us to hold onto it and I know pawning it will get a very meager amount. Anyone interested? Or perhaps does anyone know where the best place in Dodge would be to sell it? Feel free to leave me a message on here or email me at energizer162@sbcglobal.net - thanks!

Sorry but I already have a pretty fair collection of rings.

If you get no offers here I'd try ebay.

She doesn't have children by the guy???........ just a question........ I kept mine to give to my sons......... just cause the token means little to me it is still something that might mean something to an offspring.........

If not......... prob shoulda traded them in on what you bought....... course I'm sure if you ebay'd them they would sell but there is lots of jewlery on ebay............ don't think your gonna make much money on $1000 set...... you might be lucky - but it's too easy to buy wholesale......

Have the stone(s) set into a new piece of jewelry like a necklace.

Thanks for the congrats!

First, I was a little off on my years - it was acutally about 6 1/2 years ago. They do have two little boys together, but he has made no attempt to be any part of their lives and has not paid any child support. Can we say dead beat dad? I guess I can relate - same thing happened with me growing up.

Anyway, back to the ring. You are exactly right that she does not want the stones or anything else out of sentiment. If someone wanted this set, we would let it go for as little as $100.

Take it to Teresa Foster, she can melt it down and make a new piece of jewelry for you. Might also check with Mark Jeffries at K-Martin.

Thanks for the info...the new wifey doesnt wear much jewelery except for the engagement ring and a necklace I bought her for x-mas. We really have no need for keeping the stones or the ring.

As far as size goes, I have absolutely no clue. The only things I know about rings are to buy what makes her smile when she tries it on.

I have attempted to attach a picture of the ring here. Keep in mind I have the cheapest digital camera known to man kind so I dont know how well it will work.

Well, if you needed a tax deduction to offset the marriage penalty.....you could donate the rings to BBBS and let them auction them. They'd probably give you a receipt that would save you more on taxes than what you'll actually get in cash by auctioning it yourself................
