| Dad's Story YWS, you did not need to blast all over the world that I am (questionably) disabled, just because my spine is collapsing upon itself! GEESE KID! lolol And just because my new wardrobe is a robe and slippers means nothing ok? lolol Ok, given the choice, I will take a WOMEN! Ok, no smart remarks on the kitten! lololol Now, how this all came about. I have two dogs who have been with my son and myself from the day they were born. Brutis is an Akita, and Runt is a Black lab. Brute weighs in at around 160 lbs, and Runt at around 125 lbs. On this certain day, I had them outside, and as I was standing there, I felt something brush up against my leg. I did what any good brave man would do, I left the earthly bonds and its gravity! After reaching an altitude of almost 6 to 8 inches, I saw that there was no danger, and landed back on this planet. (In a "very manly" way, of course)! I also saw both my dogs heading full tilt towards myself and this kitten. So, I scooped it up and held it while waiting to get run over by both of my dogs. The funniest thing happened, all .08 ounces of this kitten, hissed! Stopped both dogs dead in their tracks. Now this hiss, lasted maybe all of .0000001 of a nano second as this was all the air her little lungs could hold. So, my brave dogs "crept" forward and as I bent down for them to smell her, they both started to cry! Sooo, we all went into the house and "miss kitty" got lots of attention. Both dogs soon realized that she was now a part of our family. Runt took a particular liking to her, and her to him! After my son went and got kitty baby milk and a bottle and nipple with which to feed her. She took to this right away. As days went by, runt would play with her on the floor and clean her, and she was crawling all over him. HE loved this, and brute wanted to get closer to her, but runt would not let him. Runt barely let me pick her up. During the day, I had things I would try and get done, and I would put her in the pocket of my robe. She loved this, and was soon attacking me out of my pocket. She would grab ahold of me with her front paws, and kick like crazy at my hand. And, she would "hiss". She loved to hiss, and it did not matter at what! Even her own bottle. But, my hands caught the most of her "playing"! All I could do, was to laugh. Little knot head! Not BIG enough to hiss, but she sure did her best. lolol LORD! I did not know that Matt had posted her on the board, until the day that he told me that he had found a good home for her. I was glad, and sad all at the same time. And yes, I became attached to her, but of course, in a "MANLEY" way! He told me what was going to take place and how long it would be. The day came for Wordy to show up, and I was very pleased to meet him. And of course on that day, I just had to have an attack of "allergies" and had tears in my eyes (yes, in a manly way of course). I was just so used to her being in my pocket, but the one who still has to most trouble, is Runt. He will just sit and cry. Looking all over for her. When outside, he will go to where she would be when I took them out and look and smell all over the place. I am not sure that he is going to be ok with her gone! Not kidding! Who ever said that Cat and Dogs can't get along, did not know her, or Runt! He is taking this the hardest of all! Matt told me that wordy had posted a picture of his little girl and "princess" ( my name for her). Sally is a wonderful name, and after seeing his daughter and "little bit" I knew that she was going to have a wonderful home! Sgt T, your little one is nothing short of an ANGEL! Thanks to all who helped this little life! Sure did my heart massive amounts of good! Thanks for listening and God Bless to all. ![]() |

| Awww crap. Now my alergies are acting up. In a military manor of course. Thank you sir. From one guy experiencing sacrifice to another. Now, I wasn't going to post this here, but you sir, have inspired me. Upon reciept of the kitten, my wife wanted to know how I pulled this off, with her not being from Dodge, she's not privy to the type of people that come from there. She's not a big follower of the dodgeboard, but she knows I am. Anyway, she read the thread, and told me that she thought you all were some of the nicest people, and SHE said... maybe we should head out to Dodge and throw a party for all you dodgeboard types when I get back. Now, I am a sucker for a reason to return to Dodge, and my kids have never been there, so if this actually happens, then I would be honored if you would let me buy you a drink sir. And your son as well. He's a wonderful person and you should be proud. Same goes for you too wordy, proof that there can be world peace, a Conservative buying a drink for a Liberal. I would love to work this out so that I might meet the rest of you guys (and the sista's) too. So if it happens, I'll let you all know. Thanks again sir.
