For Sale 2 Male Chinchillas - $50

Two 1 year old male chinchillas are up for sale! They are great animals but require their owners to do some research. We acquired them with the hopes to start breeding in the future, but since we are moving to Wichita soon, we decided that the move would be too much stress for them. We are including food, hay, treats, bedding, and dust bath. If you want to take them, please do some research! I will post some websites below:

We are selling these guys for $50 to a good home! I will provide a very small cage for transport only, but the buyer should have a cage set up and ready for use before pickup! Had a neighbor back in, well.....it's been a long time ago - back on Avenue A. They had chinchillas - were raising them for their fur. Beautiful little creatures. I always thought it was sad knowing what was to happen to them.

These are sensitive animals!

If I were interested in breeding Chinchillas, I think I would prefer a male and a female, rather than two sensitive males.

Just my opinion. I will admit I did not research very much.

Now that fur isn't so popular in the fashion industry, chinchillas have become more popular in the pet industry because they are great animals.

All chinchillas have sensitive digestive systems and can only be given particular woods to chew on and food to eat. It's normal. Also they have a "floating ribcage" so you must be aware of how to hold them. Like lizards, chinchillas "drop" their tails to get away from predators, so you must be aware not to grab them by their tails.

These are just a few reasons why I say you must do research. These guys aren't different than any other chinchillas. I just want whoever takes them to know about this information.

How many "pups" can I expect out of a pair of breeding males per year?

I wonder if since I acquired these two males I am no longer allowed to buy more of these chinchillas...is there a law stating that I am only allowed to own 2 chinchillas? "WITH THE HOPES TO START BREEDING IN THE FUTURE" means that I would probably have a LOT of chinchillas. I am a mother of 2, so I know what is needed to make babies or "pups" as was stated. Unfortunately, I didn't have the room or the time to start breeding right now, so buying a male and a female at this time would have got me started sooner than I wanted to. I would have been unhappy to have had a litter of babies right now, so buying two males (or two females) was the right choice for me at this time.

Honestly, all I wanted to do was make a posting about some chinchillas that I was selling. I didn't expect a rude person to make nonsense of this posting.

I used to have one as a pet. I recall the one I had was rather shy and would stay inside it's "hut" all the time. Are the ones you have hand trained?

One of them had been in a fight before we got him because the breeder did the HUGE mistake of bringing a female in heat in the same room as two males in a cage together. So he is pretty timid, but the other one is WAY more outgoing. We've only had them for about a month, but I'm sure with some time, at least the one will be easily handled. They say if you don't have a lot of time, it's good to have two so that they can have one another's company. I'll try to post some photos of them soon!

Sherry, I don't think justoo was trying to be rude. You can look at any thread on this board and find someone is making light of the subject, whether it is about news or even something for sale. We all need something to laugh about every once and a while. I thought it was funny even tho, I figured you being a mother knew that it takes a male and a female to make more. I may be easily amused too. Just my $.02.
