Lost Treasure: Ring Pit

Here's a local treasure story. I'm not going to reveal the name for obvious reasons.

Some 15 years ago a well-to-do local family had their home burglarized. Among the things stolen was a lot of jewelry. The perpetrators were caught but the majority of the jewelry was never recovered.

The reason the jewelry was not recovered was because it was thrown into the Sandpit. According to the thief's they pawned some of it and then got scared and threw the rest into the east end of the swimming hole.

I've talked with Pat and was told his son was a scuba diver and had actually recovered some of the booty.
