Buried Treasure: Adams Strongbox

Through the late 70's to early 90's few paid much attention to Terrell W Adams as he was often seen around Dodge City swinging his metal detector. Over the years he had amassed quite a large amount treasure in the form of coins, gold and silver jewelry and relics from Dodge City's past.

The hobby(Treasure Hunting) had been so enjoyable for him that in the mid 90's he decided to give some back to the hobby. Finding individual relics was fun but finding that buried treasure was by far more exciting.

Terrell took a strongbox and filled it with over 20lbs of his favorite finds. Many were one of a kind relics found from the early rugged days of Dodge City, Fort Mann, Fort Atkinson and Fort Dodge. The box was buried somewhere near dodge and near his old stomping grounds where he grew up.

There are clues to this buried treasure to be found in 2 books known to have been in the Dodge City Public Library. A Century in Kansas and Adams-Kimbrel Family. Both authored by Lola Crum(Adams). As far as is known the strongbox has yet to be recovered.

Hint to Terrell: You buried the box close to where you hid your Easter eggs.
