| I remember reading somewhere that a town was located at the old airport location in Dodge City. Was there another Air Port location in before the present one? I often wondered if they actually ment the old air Air Base. That would be close to where Snyder is shown on one map north of Howell anyway. |

| Ghost towns are great places to hunt because while you may not find much, what you do find is old. The best time of the year is in the spring when the weeds are low and the snakes are slow. Always ask permission.

| There is a ghost town north of Minneola. The natural gas booster stations along US 283 had an employee housing section that's been leveled and is now wildlife habitat. It's open to the public... and snakes.

KP&L, Cities Service, NGPL, Northern Natural Gas, and alot of the compressor stations had housing for employees. All of these have been abandoned and torn down. Most of the older employees never knew what owning a house cost, until they retired! |
