| Yea, the date is just readable under the glass. We did some more hunting today and I hit the first gold of the year. A nice sized 14k bracelet. We are getting of to a great start again this year. Here is a picture show the bracelet as I first found it still frozen in the ground at about 3". We worked for about 15 minutes trying to recover it without damaging it. Which we did. ![]() Here again as a bit more came to light ![]() Here it is cleaned up ![]() Here is the 14k stamp on the back ![]() After cleaning it looks like HotChevy396's Indian Head is a 1895. ![]()

| It was a lot of fun. It was a perfect example of what makes metal detecting so exciting. I first uncovered a small 2" section of the chain and called over the rest of the crew. We knew we had a good find but at that point your imagination just runs wild. Trying to determine which direction the chain runs, how big it might be and if there is more than just a chain all gets things pumped. Slowly you pry away at the frozen ground and as more chain is exposed the excitement grows. When the big solid part started to show things really got exciting. We then knew it did indeed have something besides the chain. Once it was recovered and all the ooh's and ah's had finished, thoughts turned to the poor sole who had lost it.
