| It's official the medallion has been removed: Medallion has been removed from its hiding spot - Dodge City, KS - Dodge City Daily Globe Wonder who found it? I'm glad they at least check on it so we don't have somebody keeping it for 3 days and still letting everybody look for it like last year. That's rude!

| Daily Globe Posted Jul 30, 2008 @ 11:18 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DODGE CITY — The Globe's production manager, Ed O'Neal, hides the medallion and devises the clues each year. Here is his explanation of what this year's clues meant: 1. "Area has seen its time is in decline." This clue refers to a run-down metal building just south of the medallion's hiding place. 2. "On the street to gold, you will be forced to turn left or right." A reference to the medallion's location on Pearl Street. Drivers must turn left or right at the end of the dead-end street. 3. "Next to something metal standing straight." This clue refers to the fire hydrant where the medallion was hidden and two metal poles standing next to the hydrant. 4. "Green and yellow but often red." Another reference to the fire hydrant. 5. "Just off the four lane you will find the pay line." A reference to the pay line at Mitch's Car Wash just off South Second Avenue. 6. "Not as simple as waving a wand and flushing out the medallion." The word "wand" refers to either a car wash wand or the wand used to open fire hydrants. The second part of the clue refers to flushing out fire hydrants. 7. "If you brush do not forget to rinse." Another reference to the location near the car wash. 8. "Automatic or manual." Yet another reference to the car wash.
