| Tee, read the "responsibilites" part of the CCH law. I was all for it, until I read the fine print. If someone takes your firearm and commits a crime, you are responsible! There is no law at present that prevents you from carrying a firearm, within reason. However, if you sign onto the CC, there is a whole set of new regs. |

| TEE, Congratulations!!! I always said that as soon as we got this law passed I would be one of the first in line to get my permit but I had to be somewhere else this last weekend or I would have been there with you. We (my wife and I) are going to do the one on the 23rd. So, now that you have been through the course, what are the answers to your first post? Also, how tough is the shooting qualification? I've been working with the wife and she's not doing too bad, she should pass. I think the shooting is 25 rounds and 18 have to be on target??? I don't imagine that we will carry very often, probably just when we travel. When crossing state lines it will be a comfort to know that most states will honor the permit. At least now I will be fully legal! ![]() |

The written test is more difficult. Not much law, but lots of terminology about the gun. Mifire vs Hangfire, Squib. Know what the major parts of a gun; barrel, magazine (not clip), grip, cylinder, action, slide, etc. and how to clean the barrel (from the rear to prevent wear). If you miss any on the written test, they will work with you until you understand the correct answers. You will end up getting 100% on the written test of 25 questions. There is supposedly an NRA test on their site that mimics this test. Everyone who takes the class will pass. Don't take the gun in with you. leave it in the car. The Tech center is back by the dorms. The instructors, Dnny Gillium, Travis, and Gary are extremely good. I learned a lot from the class especially from Gary.

| Tee, did they say which, if any, states will recognize the Kansas CCH license? Will it reciprocate with Colorado, Oklahoma or Texas?

| This is true. According to the instructors, it will reciprocate, for the most part, among the 48 states that have CCH.

| I’d double check with every state you plan to go into.

| Shouldn't affect me. I don't plan on carrying out of state. I don't really even plan on carrying right now anyway, while I am in the Big Brothers program. It is against the rules to even have one in the house- so I don't. I keep mine at my brothers. I would only carry it if I go camping without my little brother.
