Thanks! I'll use the title, even though the first grand baby isn't due till March! I'm so excited! I bought a new car yesterday - made the salesman show me how to put in a carseat.....he thought I was nuts. Doesn't matter - he saw the commission.

New Car??? What, you didn't get rid of the V-Dub, did ya? Oh well, I know you always wanted a "Hummer" there Muffie! If the hubby won't give you one, just give the "brothas" a call. We can hum like a weedeater at a bindweed convention!!

The V-dub's still parked outside (the pickup got stuck outside, too, so's the new one could hold court in the garage). But prolly not for long. Hubby found a buyer at work. The buyer had bought an older Toyota after I bought the old V-dub, but he didn't have the luck with the Toy that I had. He was really steamed - he'd paid $3500 for it and pretty much has to tow it to the junk yard. The seller had let it run dry of oil - with oil in it, it ran about 3500 miles before the motor seized. Too old to think about a new motor. Anyway. We're asking blue book for it: $1875. If I get money from somebunny else first, the friend is out of luck again! I'm gonna need it in a couple of weeks to pay my sales tax!!! Looks like a damned used car lot up here! Better get rid of the V-dub soon.....or the neighbors will complain!

I hate the hummers! I can't imagine how hard they would be to drive. I bought a new VW Jetta. They're a tad bigger than the Passat I had. Still got a 5-speed in it - the automatic was doggy. I think I'm gonna like it, if I don't forget I have to make the payment!!!

Sounds good. Although, I only buy American! I did have an old bug in college for awhile, and it was a good car. Don't know if I could give the room up anymore though. And no A/C out here in the "desert" would be tough. But for "transportation" it was great! Call John Smithhisler at the Fidelity State Bank. He buys old VW's. I think he bought all those that old George had in South Dodge.
