| B&B Bucks OKay, So here's the deal. Big Brothers is going through some real transitional issues at the moment. The current director is leaving on Friday. I just called and talked with her to see what is up with the B&B Bucks this year. They have worked out the details with B&B but have nobody to orchestrate it after she is gone. Wow, talk about some crazy timing on my part. Guess who got elected? At this time, I will be handling the B&B bucks for Big Brothers. You can send your checks to me, made out to Big Brother Big Sisters of Ford County, and I will send you the B&B Bucks in the mail. or: You can paypal the money to timtrent@hotmail.com reference B&B Bucks and your mailing address. I will mail them out. I will not have the bucks until this weekend. I will send them out as soon as they are in my hand. To those that know not what these are about... B&B Bucks are like gift certificates. You can use them like cash at the concession's, or for admission at any B&B theater. Put "donation-BBBucks" on the memo and take it as a tax right-off. Why are they better than cash? Well, for someone who goes to the movies, this is a way you can convert the cash into a donation for Big Brothers, as a portion of these sold thru Big Brothers goes to help those in our community by matching them with mentors. Plus, as Bubba said, these are great stocking stuffers. Know of a family that needs to spend some time together? Well, this will help them to have an excuse to get out and enjoy life, and at the same time helps a worth-wile charity.

my bet would be illegal for they need a place to go while Dad's at work and Mom is at play, or Mom at work and Dad is playing. or it is time for their family to be out of the house for eight hours or so. ![]()

| Almost all the "littles" belong to single parent families. Big Brothers/Big Sisters staff are mandated-reporters. This means they have to report potential abuse, criminal activity etc. Therefore, there aren't usually illegals in the program. Those people tend to stay under the radar. I know most of those in the program and all the littles in the program are very deserving of a mentor. Still, the program lacks the mentors needed to match the unmatched "littles" at a ratio of about 2 to 1. Anyone considering joining the program should contact me, the Big Brother/Big Sisters office at 225-0432 or logon to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Website for more information. It is a truly rewarding experience.

| My daughter is in Big Brothers and Big Sisters program, and she really enjoys having a big sister that she can spend time with, two hours a week, I can tell you that since she been in this program i've seen a change in her. The reason I put my daughter in this program is that I'm a single parent not by choice, and i work six days a week to put a roof over my daughter head, clothes on her back and put food on the table, and pay bills, since i don't depend on a man to do that for me. wish i had time to go play. |
