Sustained winds are a damaging thing (they don't have to be really stong)- folks don't think about that much till they get them - mix that with a little water and pretty soon your buyin flip flops like the rest of us!! hope everyone is OK I still would rather weather a hurricaine than sit thru a tornado.............. I know a hurricain is common - a tornado causing weather cell up there is usually at night. Takes too long to get from Colorado to Dodge for me. I hated that!

Well, they told us your winds would be here today, but it's eerily calm right now. I really don't want those high sustained winds here in our neighborhood - too many young trees that wouldn't withstand the pressure. I wouldn't mind getting rid of one of ours, but just that one and I don't think the wind would be picky enough. Ahhh - as I was just typing that, a strong gust just came up and it doesn't seem to be just a gust. It may be here. Brrrr - it's still 33 degrees. Guess this'll be a stay-at-home day for me today!
