Q97 does not support local bands. Why would I want to support them no matter who they bring in?

Local bands do lots for the communities they serve. They work long hours on benefit dances that they receive no compensation for. I do not know ANY bands that have not done benefit dances. The best they can hope for for any gains is possibly a paying dance later, maybe some free air time, or just a simple thank you. To date I have done two free dances for Q97 and received NOTHING in return from them. One was their annual Q-97 party that we were promissed air time in exchange which she later denied. They were happy and why wouldn't they be? They got a night of dancing/musical pleasure and it didn't cost them a dime.
