I really like the video - but who the video is for is really wierd. I thought they were scientologists in disguise - but nope just a powerful tree hugger it looks like - course now that she has 5 kids and 6 grandkids she advocates - no more humans on the planet cause there's no food source.

I tell ya what some folks do to make a living!! Wierd!

I would agree Wordy. Even on the DEM side with BO and Hillary being locked in a dead heat. Hills broke but has great organization. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Either way this is a historical time for the U.S. and it's good that people ARE turning out to vote regardless of which side they vote on.

Now if we can just let the people actually vote and keep anyone from Roving the ballot box it'll be great.

Hillary is broke and Obama has raised over $7 million since Super Tuesday.

You know, I've been thinking about this thread, and most of the talk about Obama is his stance on Immigration.

What about his stance on lobbyists? He wants to do away with lobbyists. I think that is one of the best ideas for this country. Loobyists have spent untold millions, maybe billions, to push legislation through that has help put this country in the financial constraints and economic problems that we face today.

Is everybody aware that the new laws on filing bankruptcy were written by the credit card companies and pushed through Congress and across the Presidents desk by their lobbyists? I don't think that industries should be able to write laws for their benefit. Congress should have the task of writing the laws based upon what we, their consituents, want them to do and what is best for the country. Not what is best for the industries that pay the bests lobbyists, who line the pockets of the politicians to get their way.

Can anybody say Jack Abramoff???

As a candidate it's easy to say things you want to do like "do away with lobbyists" because it's a populist stance that will garner votes...BUT in reality some of those things will NEVER happen. Just like Huck and the fair tax. It's a populist stance but in reality it will never happen because of the tax lawyers and the power of taking peoples money going away from Washington. Not to mention you would have to repeal the tax amendment. BO may SAY he wants to get rid of lobbyist and may even actually WANT to do that...BUT what abour the REST of the Senate and House? A lot of congress people make a fortune as lobbyists in the afterlife of politics. Do you really expect EITHER party to give up that because BO wants that?

It's just like all the "pork" shoved into bills. Both parties talk the talk about trimming it down but they continue to do it and it's not going away anytime soon. The Dems (who campaigned against spending in the mid terms) just attached a bunch of pork to the economic stimulus plan.

The president can promise all he wants but the congress has to approve it and then it has to pass the smell and taste test of the supreme court. A lot of people don't realize that or think about that.

Companies and big business, and political agendas will find a way to get their ideas and out stretched hands into tax payer pockets with or without the lobbyists. In the mean time tho - sure would be nice to be without the lobbyists! I think Obama has the right idea on that one too.............. kick their asses out!

Maybe it'll be a fight but that fight's got to start with someone.

The last seven years have shown what kind of damage one person as POTUS can do. Maybe now it's time to see what can happen if someone ANYONE would start using those powers for good.
