Local Movie Premiere "Broken Wind"

Anyone planning on going to this or have heard of anyone planning on going? It sounds kinda fun...dont know how far the movie will go past Cable Channel 8, but the people are talented enough. Some more than others, I hear, but we will leave that be...

Also I guess the trailer will be ran on KBSD this thursday on the 6 oclock news.

This is great for SW Ks. Support your local entertainers so more can be accomplished. Without support from the locals it probably will never happen again, or they (good entertainers & musicians) seem to move on to greener pastures because of no local support. We have everything we need right here except a mass of population, which is why local support is essential.


Personally I applaud this group of creative do'ers for walking the walk.

I think it's great that this is going on - I'm sure it's really exciting for everyone. Only problem is if they really are serious about filming...... they are still gonna have to walk the same road ole Dennis Hopper did - straight outta Kansas goin WEST........ Nice thing to do but Kansas is never gonna be able to offer what the east and west coast offer - for this Kansas was just the inspiration, location, and launching platform. There isn't enough mass population with interest in this kinda stuff to make it a "little hollywood" Lots of states have tried but few succeed - besides the mass population is definately NOT interested in filming - they are more interested in things a less "highbrow". I do say good for the group! and good luck on the California Trail!!

Another way to look at it might be, if they were any good they would already be there.

Don't get me wrong, they are better than I am because they had the balls to dream it, and do it. I also wish them luck, but I don't see Dodge City becoming a movie capitol or anything close to it.

Wasn't trying to say we could be next hollywood, just that you don't have to go to hollywood to complete a project like this and it be successful.

I compare everything to the music business. When I hear so and so is going to Nashville to try and make it, I have to chuckle. You do not have to go to Nashville to make it in the business, but all very successful roads will lead there if the talant is true (which is why I am still here I guess). But it all depends on one's definition of making it. IMO

What exactlly do the coasts offer that can not be accomplished right here except the locations (oceans, big city)? just curious

Now I can't speak for the group behind the production of this movie. But I can say that I do it for the sheer entertainment value, no visions of grandeur here. Call me greedy but I am in it to entertain myself. And why not share the wealth? It was a lot of fun to do and educational to see how that kind of stuff is put together. I think most will find it very over the top and funny.
