I'm not so sure about that, Wiz. Hopefully, the school district did a good job when they hired the supervisor. She should know what a loose cannon like that one could have cost in an insurance claim and should have fired him on the spot just to save her own butt. Even IF she's quitting. If an insurance claim would have been/is filed, it will likely be passed to USD 443 in the form of increased premiums. That means an even higher tax burden. One of you taxpayers ought to visit the next school board meeting and just ask what qualifications they look at for supervisors and are they skilled in employee procedures. No school system can afford to take chances - and that's one reason why so many are contracting out the bus service and putting the burden on somebody else.

I agree KC, taking chances when it comes to the lives of kids is not good business. Im gathering from both sites there have been many problems in that particular department. Would be interesting to hear from some that work there what really goes on. I like kids and hate to hear that someone somewhere is doing them wrong. Makes me want to put them in a hot air balloon on a windy day and cut the cord.

Oh yes we neglected to mention that the supervisor has been in that position for over 10 years. At that time she came along the only requirement for the job (I think) was that you knew how to drive a "Yellow Cheese Box"
Now requirements much stricter, Should ask Bronco Fan I think he has the insite on that one. How bout it there Bronco B>>>> got any thing to say?

So in the case of this "personal friend" bus driver, who quit/got fired , these strict rules, was he aware? If he was aware then I agree, Boss should have fired him on the spot because it sounds like he was already given time off due to a temper problem. I have also heard of video cameras on school busses. Ive seen them on the news. Do ya think we will see this on the evening news?

They do or did have cameras on the buses. Course the clown got off the bus to confront the driver that offended him ( as the story goes) - The guy should have been fired as soon as his "friend/supervisor" got the word of the event. If the driver said - yes I deviated from my driving duties - that should have been all she needed to hear. There should have been no discussion as to why he felt that pursuing a car in a school bus was necessary. Whether it had kids or not - A bus is a lethal weapon to someone in a car....... His judgement was unforgivable - and he deserves to be in at least another dept other than his "friends" I'm not so sure any other supervisor in thier right mind would want an employee like that tho.

Yes something to say, I just spent about 20 minutes repling to your request. and when I went to proof read it, I get this message I wasn't signed on, Hmmm something strange here. because I was and I went and double check and yep I had been. so anyway. in a nut shell if any one wants to talk to me eye to eye, or thru email with real names and not behind a tube, I am willing to share. but for now I will share this with you. I am a bus driver and going on five years and enjoy it very much. as for the present Supervisor I have nothing but true respect for her, and I have gain alot of insight about how to treat a person young or old, student or bus driver. Friend or not so much as a Friend (some say they are but are they).. Oh yes by the way I AM A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MY PRESENT SUPERVISOR AND I WILL MISS HER VERY MUCH AND MY BELIEVE IS SO WILL THE DISTRICT. It all makes since now. Sounds like there is some butt kissin going on here. Broncofan, you have nothing but respect for sweeping things under the rug? Makes me more and more thankful that I do not have children or grandchildren on those busses. Also sounds like they take care of their own. Sounds familuar.

Hi, Bronco Fan - thanks for sharing that info with us and for your willingness to discuss it further person-to-person. While I do respect a supervisor that is able to make life a little easier for employees while on-the-job, I tend to have problems with supervisors who do so at the expense of innocents. I agree that the proper action was taken, I just feel it should have been much swifter, regardless of personal relationships. In fact, if there was a good relationship between the supervisor and the driver, the driver should have recognized it and not put the supervisor in this position. Sometimes people just lose their head and it sounds like this driver had done so on more than one occasion. Not really who I'd want to entrust my children's lives to on a daily basis, but we all obviously have our own opinions about that. Take care and continue to check in with us from time to time to keep us honest!

That's what we are all about here - bein able to "speak your opinion" I don't think folks have a different opinion cause I don't know what thier name is. I know that wouldn't change what I wrote.

I know I have been "typin in the wind" before too Bronco. It happens. Course usually when that does happen it will give you the sign in page, ya sign in and then it takes you right back to your post. Anyway that's been my experience. Sorry you felt that you were getting different treatment than the rest of us based on what you were writing. This post has sat idle for awhile and then seems to crank back up again. This post is not as any more "heated" or "watched" than any other post. Truth is there are some that don't give a rat's ass about this post at all. If it strikes ya - then you respond. Course ya don't see me on the "sports" page much but if I posted I don't think my post would be "kicked out". Maybe some other board has treated you badly but I don't think you will find that here. Admin is too busy getting raidios, games,and chat rooms to "monitor" every post as you post it. Our Admin has better things to do as evidenced by the fun stuff here.

Please come back and talk with us - this is NOT the only topic to chime in on. Just cause there is a fence between views on this doesn't mean that you do not have something to offer to make this a successful board. Just wanted ya to know that. TexKan: Thanks for the insight, it did sound like I thought I was being censored, sorry it came out that way.
Now as for Wizard: It is always good to know the true before we speak. Unless you were there, you or anybody else are relying on what has been told to you either in person or by this site or the other one. Call me what you like, but you really don't know me. Like I said before if you haven't walked in someone's shoes, you really don't have that right to judge. Now two things just came to mind. That has been told to me by Several Trusted Friends of mine. 1. some times we should stop take a deep breath and count to 10, 5 what ever you thing you need. and think about what is happening and ask yourself is this going to get into a spitting contest where nothing gets solved.
2. Learn to know when to let go of something, you and only you know that you tried your best.
3. Name calling and rehashing sour grapes over and over, tend to just keep some of us on a Ego Hi.
4. Always tell the truth and then you won't find yourself getting caught in an untruth,and then have to explain your way out of it.
5. Negativeness only keeps you down. Thinking Positive let's you enjoy the truth.

Yes Sky Pilot you did stir up a hornet's nest, just like you told me on the lot. I really didn't want to respond for I felt like I was being drawn in to something that really would open a can of worns, which you also said to me. but I did and so now with that said, I will leave you with this thought. It takes very little to hate someone or a certain group. I myself have found out that learning to Love and express Love has made me a happier person and hopefully a better person than what I was five years ago.
