I was thinking the same thing - of course that means no teachers, no health care, no police, no firemen, no government offices open (let's make this on a crucial day to all these "hard working" people who won't be able to get their government assistant checks) etc. etc. We can go a day without fruit pickers - can THEY go a day without OUR services? And I expect to get paid for the day just like the illegals. By the way, I don't know if it was on this post or another one, someone mentioned that there were cars parked at the meat packing plants and it was said offices were open, my question is - did these people get double pay??? they had to SHOW UP for their pay that day! It is just so blatantly UNFAIR!!!!!!!
I was so upset yesterday, I had been looking forward to shopping but was so sick I couldn't even get off the couch!! I'm so glad to hear that people got out and supported the businesses that were open!! I wish the Globe or someone would have ran a story about the people (of all colors/races) who were out shopping to make their point. I guess they (the media) were just too busy catering to the illegals and helping their cause.
