| Army, with all due respect, how often are you in a classroom? I know you occasionally eat lunch up there and go in to request records on the kids you are recruting......but when are you in the classroom? I'm not saying there isn't disrespect, etc., but I work there - everyday - and I sure don't see all the "action" you claim to see. Can you also say (or is it not as "post-worthy") that you see a lot of great kids who are a real asset to society. I have worked amongst high school students for the last 15 years or so and I am saddened by the bad wrap our students get, when the majority are smart, talented, goal-minded kids. I wish you could be more open minded and see the positive in our youth. |

| Bad behavior is so much more memorable than good "normal" what you would expect to see behavior. There should be no excuse for students being allowed to tell a teacher to **** off and then be back in class......... ever!! One of the problems is that too many people are willing to excuse the behavior - no boundaries - so if the majority of students are model students - why are they bogged down by the trouble makers? These model students deserve better and should be able to recieve better from the school. Quit wasting time on the trouble makers and invest in those that are willing to do the work! Now that's what I call fair! Lord our taxes pay for alternative this and that......... use it and keep the trouble makers where they can cause trouble with each other rather than those trying to make a future for themselves. If the alternative students are given the chance and they screw it up over and over - it's time for them to not get another chance for awhile. Some kids are a waste of time - tough thing to admit - but it is true.

| They can house the students that don't want to learn or cooperate in the old jail, once they get the new one built!! Maybe a little "drill Seargent" with discipline, would help change their attitudes! |

| Yeah, Sarge - he just might need it for the next time he steps out of his house....but I believe what he says. There are just too many levels of understanding there. They just can't all be taught the same thing and ever hope to understand it. That's what's skewing the numbers. I don't think Army is trying to put the student body down as a whole, just trying to get us to see the whole picture. There are some very bright kids there (my niece is one of the grads that's pretty damned bright herself!), but there are lots that still need to be in a remedial class. Not because they're stupid, but because they've missed all the classes they needed earlier - either because they weren't there or because they couldn't understand the language.

| I agree on the education level there at Dodge I went three years of high school to 1A school and moved to Dodge City my senior year and all I had to take at the high school to graduate was Government and Economics where if I had stayed at my old school I would have had a full schedule worth of classes to graduate.
