Bubba, Personally, i've marched on two different types of artificial turf. The one at K-State, and the old one at Ft Hay's. The one at Ft Hay's was like walking on outdoor carpet on cement, which is probably what it was. Much harder, even on us band geeks, than real grass, on hard dirt. K-State's however was more like walking on a soft gymnastics pad. You sink into it as you walk. Much easier on us, and i'm sure the teams too. It will depend on what kind they go with, as I'm sure the softer you want, the more expensive, but in the end, would pay for itself.

One thing i forgot about in my last post, was the cost and upkeep of the mowers themselves. They're not cheap to buy, and cost even more when they break down.

Anybody remember the RB that took us to sub-state with a 10-0 regular season record in 1994?

And his dad, well at least it's what he told me, played for the chefs. All I can find though, if it's the same one, is when he played at Vanderbilt, http://www.vanderbilt.edu/commodores...ry/rushing.htm and when he was drafted in the USFL by Tampa Bay. I know he lived in Dodge a few years ago, guess he still does, and may have went to school there.

Are you talking about Brian Goolsby??

And as far as talking about mower maintenance, just buy some "sheep"!! They pay for themselves rather quickly.

Yep, Brian was a hell of a RB for the Demons. And if I remember right, he signed with the SeaHawks after college. Don't know if he got any playing time, but how many people never get to sit on the sidelines? But he has also done very well in the arena football leagues.

Mower and Fertilizer service in one. And they can sheer them every year for some extra cash.

That does sound a little more familiar. But then agian, it was about 10 years or so ago, that he told me this. I just remember he said he played, but couldn't remember how he was related. Was he a product of DCHS?

Brian's Uncle was Ernie Goolsby. Was with the Chiefs for a very short time. Brian played Fullback at Kansas State, and was noted for his blocking ability. He did get the ball on short yardage situations. Brian was with the Seahawks, but didn't make the team. Last I heard, he was playing Arena ball. Last time I saw him was 3 or 4 years ago. MPO was if he would have played some defense in college, he may have had a better shot at the pro game. I know as a DCHS linebacker, he made some devastating stops.

According to the link I posted above, he played two seasons with the Oklahoma Wranglers, and one year with the Grand Rapids Rampage. I think he played a season or two in Wichita, but I'm not sure which team, or league, as they have two.

Brian Goolsby

He was a fan favorite at K-State. Fans called Goooooolsby every time he carried the ball. Or they wanted him to carry the ball.
