Who was that illegal that ran for the board?

I remember some time back some guy was running for the school board and the standard background check found he was here illegally? Some board members and teachers wanted him to run anyway. What ever happened to this person?

I vaguely remember an appointed 443 board member who was WithOut Papers but I haven't been successful in google-ing to an answer to whazzzz'iz name.

Maychance their newest appointed member is legal. I drove by the administration building and smelled a campfire and heard "kum bi ah... err.. yawn"....

I'm sure he's not gunna be afraid of throwing money at problems.

He did serve on the board until his spot came up for reelection and he did run but it was discovered that he did not have papers. It does say that you can be fined and or serve jail time for falsely signing that voter registration card but nothing happened because he didn't have papers. I believe his name was Jose Sanchez.

The man's name was Jose Sanchez. Different guy.

He was NOT a registered voter at the time. He was appointed to fill a vacancy, and when it came open and he wanted to run, that is when it was discovered he was not a registered voter (because he was not a citizen). His parents came to the US illegally, but he was born here. He had not done the paperwork. It is my understanding he has done so now and is a proud citizen.

Since he was appointed to the position, that time was okay. He ran into problems when he wanted to run. There is still discussion as to whether he could have. Kansas does not controll local elections and they could not find any law that said you MUST be a US citizen. (that is what I have been told)

I may be wrong on this but I don't think so. It was not okay for him to get appointed and they could of had to redo everything that he voted on. I would think that if you felt strongly enough to run for a local election you would have voiced your opionion on other issues by voting before hand. I did not agree with appointments on the board because everyone that has been appointed didn't go for the public's vote in an election and only one kept trying to get on the school board and actually spent her own money to run. The school board should have taken the next in line not handed it over to whomever they chose.

Pardon me but this story isn't makin much sense - His parents are illegeal, He was born here,........ what paperwork????? His birth certificate is his paperwork! I believe he would already be a citizen - right? or is that a new law just to appease Fox...........
