i voted for dan when the election came around. there was a big deal about the teachers salaries and what not. i thought he'd do them good, but wow. i screwed up there. least i wasnt the only one that made that mistake.

Yea it was a sneaky thing to do to get all the items voted for but it's done all the time in politics. Most wouldnt pass by themselves so they lumped them together so that the race fans would vote for an SEC while SEC fans would vote for a racetrack even if they didnt want it. And i dont see them rejecting one without therefore rejecting the others. they were voted as a package.

I was told that if you went against Danny boy you would be out. He used the idea of being a teacher to get the teachers vote. The new board thinks that after they build this grade school that the community will do a bond issue to build a Middle School at least that is what I heard Rostettler say. I guess they think we are all made of money. I'm a single mom and don't get free and reduced lunches. According to a email I saw from Terry Lee the teachers would have gotten after last years raise and the 3 year proposal, almost a 25% increase. They are holding out for more but after yesterday's paper I bet we end up in court again for this fair funding before it's all over.

I'd rather have a school named after a teacher who really influenced students than a BOE member or city father who could afford to donate oodles of moola.

You know, I am hispanic and grew up in that town. I was born in Dodge City. But, it's people like all of you that make me embarrased to say where I am from. If you don't like the way things are handled there, then get the F out. No one is making you live there. Move to Canada or something. Oh, wait, you'll probably have to live with Mexicans there too. Just get used to it, they are everywhere. If you want to change the laws, then run for an office in the Government. You all would rather bitch about it though, then to actually do something about it. That's what America is all about, Freedom of Speech, hide behind it.
