Would you, will you, could you please come back with a thought toward a constructive solution? Hell's bells! We'll discuss something even more important than the race issue. What ride ya got? Ya gotta job? Kids? Wife? Done drugs? Off drugs? Computer problems? You said you're brown; brown-blue or brown-red? We love pollyticks. Wanna share a joke? We're multi-faceted and enjoy many discussions. You're very welcome to share more about yourself than just the chip on your shoulder. Your pal, lurker

| 30 and more years ago it was believed that the cost of education had positive returns to society. That was then. The current philosophy is to 'enable' the child and lower the bar for 'success'.. Today we have a huge portion of a generation of (future) producers who are believers in 'productive minimalism' because that's what they are/were taught. It doesn't matter where they came from.

Somehow it just doesn’t convey the same warm fuzzy feeling as “Howdy, I’m new here.”

| Ya know, I've been thinking that the first ones to jump out there with the race card usually don't have to look very far to find a racist. Truth be told, all they would have to do is look in the mirror!!

| My apologies I must apologize for my bad choice of words. There are a lot of great people that live in Dodge and a lot of them are my friends. I was born and raised in Dodge City as well as my dad. I know there are times when we joke around and I will be the first to admit I love a great Mexican joke (there are a lot of them). But this post was about ideas for a new school name. A NEW SCHOOL. A grade school on top of that. There are alot of illegals in that town, and alot that are not. But don't blame the kids for their parents wrong doing. There is a time for jokes and discussing the future and education in Dodge city is not one of them. I hope you all can forgive me for being upset about the way this forum starts out. But just think, if a tourist or a future resident wants to know more about Dodge City and finds a site with comments like this, then where does that leave the future of Dodge City? I hope that one day the government will get the illegal immigrant situation under control, but we are just going to have to live with it while it lasts. I know I do. |

| Thanks mr.shofine for your contribution. I'm sure that you are right about how a person might take our bantering and I can only hope that such a person will realize that this board isn't a bunch of Pollyannas. The Dodge City shameless commerce site provides the sugar coated version of this town. Facts are facts. Most of Dodge City's commerce comes from (literally) adding value to raw materials... moo ... and producing farm commodities. Couple that with a waning tourist history and you purdee much got a working class town. Nothing fancy here. What do you suggest we name the new school?
