| and replaces them with ...... somebody even worse? The new bus superintendent probably needs to retrain some of the staff, but wholesale cleaning house won't help right now - they have to get through the rest of the year - at least till Christmas break. IMHO anyway.

Good bus drivers are hard to find. Sometimes because of the schedule - it doesn't work well with other jobs; sometimes because the bus driver just doesn't like kids. And they don't get paid squat, either. I'm seeing something I really don't like - and that's the people we really count on, we don't pay. I make much more than teachers up here - and I'm not entrusted with young people's minds. It's really kind of strange. Have a good evening, everybody!

| I luckily never had to ride the bus to school here in good ole DC. But, I remember back in the day when the kids got on the bus, it went and picked up other kids, and then dropped them off at school. When did this whole cattle herding thing by the football field come into play...and, more importantly, WHY?? I am sure there is a good reason for it...I just dont know what it is! |

| My only complaint with the busses, other than the occasional inconsiderate driver who chats with parents while holding up traffic, is the excess stopping. When I road the bus we were required to meet the bus at a bus stop. It seems to me that these busses stop every two blocks to pickup 2-3 kids. Heaven forbid the kids should need to walk to catch a bus.

| I say, let them walk like we used to have to do. If kids could just go to their local neighborhood school, instead of being bussed all over hell's half acre, it would be more convenient for everybody. Plus save the taxpayers alot of money. The only kids having to ride a bus are the ones in the rural areas who can't walk to school. And Special Education type kids. It never hurt us, and maybe it would give them some sense of responsibility! Plus, exercise is good for the little boogers!! ![]() |
