Moved: Middle School Incident

Has anybody else heard what happened at the Middle School weight lifting room? Just recently, the weightlifting murals that are/were painted on the wall were vandalized and painted over with graffiti by the Mexican Soccer Team from the school, everybody knew it. What happened you might ask, I know I did. I asked if the students on the team were suspended....NO. I asked if the soccer team was disbanded for at least the rest of the year...NO. Not a single thing happened to the soccer team.

Man that sucks. Sounds like that place is out of control.

How can we straighten out Iraq, etc. when this shit occurs
in our towns, schools, etc?

Man when I was in school (long, long time ago) I watched my P's & Q's.
I knew if I assed up I was gonna get it at school. And that was nothing
compared to what I was gonna git at home.

Who made the call to let it go without punishment???? The principal, Cunningham, & Beedles - Miller most likely. Teachers don't have the backing they need to establish discipline in their rooms. If the kids see that nothing was done to the little criminals, they know they can get away with almost anything.
Here is an example. A student begins cussing & throwing things in the class room because the student got called on for an answer & didn't know it. This is not the first time the student has blown up in class. The teacher sends the kid to the office so he can continue to teach & the other students aren't hurt by the objects being thrown. The office sends him back 20 mins later. Nothing but a 'good speaking to' & a phone call to Mom was given as punishment for a disruptive, abusive, foul language blow up that has happened time & time again. The mom didn't give a hoot about what happened & was abusive on the phone with the principal. (No support there.) The behavior continues & now others feel free to act this way because they know they can get out of class & they won't be punished once they are in the office. Do you think that there is a lot of teaching & learning standards going on in that room? Would you want your kid in that room? I know I don't!

According to 1649 Massachusetts law, punishment for children over the age of 16 acting stubborn or rebellious was death.


Maybe if we enforced this law, we could regain control of our schools and streets.

They should get "hazardous duty" pay! When I was in school, if you acted up in a disruptional manner, you got your butt swatted at school and then again at home. It only took one time, and then you towed the line!

This is a small part of the reason, but most leave or have left due to the NCLB. Ask any teacher or even parent how they feel about it. Teachers move to different schools or school districts if the one they are currently in has no discipline.

Isn't it ironic that athletes make more in one game than a teacher makes in a year? Our future rides on our youth's education, yet we pay people with no education (somewhat) mounds of money, and teachers get zilch! I feel the same way for LEO's, they put their lives on the line everyday, yet we don't pay them enough! Maybe, this is the reason that the US keeps falling behind the rest of the world?! Our youth of today, on average, are lazy, unruly, uneducated, and allowed to do whatever they want by "who cares" type parents who would rather file a lawsuit against a teacher than discipline their kid. Detector has it right, most parents utilize schools today as a convenient babysitter.
